Isn't it a testament to how great America is, how anyone can make it? Here we have a proud Native American woman running for president. They say America was stolen, but if she would win then a Native American is back in charge. It just shows how great our diverse country is and how any demographic can make it.

Their vote will still help get their state's electoral college vote to the candidate it they want. But, the electoral college is fantastic, it kind of buffers things a bit. Kind of like the same reason we have a House (votes based on population) and a Senate (all states get equal number of votes). Great foresight with the checks and balances, our forefathers had.

I was truly expecting Mayor Pete to break out a Ronald Reagan type line (the reverse of "I won't use his youth and inexperience against him") to flame Bernie to a crisp but instead he gave a very grown up and well thought out answer. Don't know whether it was a lost opportunity but the dude sounds easily like the smartest guy on the stage. Can you imagine him being interviewed long form by Barack Obama and the two riffing off each other and improving the other's ideas on the fly? Whether he wins or loses the nomination I hope he does something amazing in the federal government for the good of the American people.

I never said that racism doesn't exist. I'm saying it isn't holding anyone back at a significant level any more. Again I'll ask, if someone makes responsible decisions and puts in the effort to make themselves marketable in the workplace, tell me how their skin color will stop that from happening. You're being an easy mark for the victim machine Democrats.

You are playing word games! Skin color in many parts of the United stated is a extreme disadvantage and you cannot site anything that disproves what I said!
You know as well as I do that there are many barriers that are disadvantageous to being a person of color!
Such as being driving while black...….walking while black....shopping while black.....going into a white restaurant while black......etc...
It is obvious that you do not support giving a hand to those who have put in the time and effort to deserve a break....
It is sad that there are people like you who honestly believe that these people are deserving of some sort of break!
If they truly were treated equally I would say that your viewpoint is spoy on!! But they are NOT treated equally!! That's a fact!!

considering that having a "black" sounding name is about the equivalent of a "white" name plus a felony on record (see here, here, and here), I'd say racism is alive and well. It may not be as visible as say..."separate but equal", and it may be part of people's implicit biases, but it exists nonetheless.

Bernie kind of fell in the second half but I think he was the winner with Warren close behind.

It was basically everyone against Warren and Sanders tonight with most of them using Republican talking points.

The good news is that both of them dodged the punches and countered and landed quite a few blows themselves.

Wishful thinking. The soundbites of the debate (as determined by right-wing media and Intarwebs) will be $500 billion for reparations and Dems are gonna raise taxes on the middle class to pay for healthcare that you may not even want.
