Dang! Only getting 130kb/s

I used the slipstream the way the had it and got no problems at all, downloaded, slipstreamed, created ISO, burned bootable ISO, formated and installed not a single problem. I formated because my XP install was hosed, I think I will be switching back to Win2k as I am sick of dealing with XP, I have changed my mobo three times and am getting sick of calling microsoft everytime I want to reformat.

Holy crud, SP3! I never thought it would come out. I guess this is just a collection of every hotfix they've posted since SP2, huh? Anyways, I'm DL @ 138kb/s...not bad ( I fondly (not) remember my dialup days

What exactly does SP3 do/fix? I ain't applying it until I Iknow EVERYTHING it does. I have three stable-as-blocks-of-granite boxes running SP2 w/all the latest hotfixes...I'd shoot myself if I screwed that up.

What is the version of IE and Media Player after the install? Does SP3 let you keep IE 5.5? Or does it "upgrade" you to 6.0?
No! I still have 5.5 and WMP 6.4

I just used the above link to so the sp3 slipstream and as far as I can tell it worked fine. It acts and feels like a real win2k cd but I won't know fully untill I need to do a format and reinstall.

After installing SP3, I can no longer boot off a Windows 98 floppy into DOS. It says "NTLDR not found."

Not a problem yet.

Can someone post a MD5 or SHA-160 hash of their w2ksp3.exe? I want to make sure I got a good download. Thanks.

.paldo do you have a link to a guide that will show you how to slipstream sp3 in (preferably for dummies😛)?

here's slipstream how-to's. While you're at read the article on how to make it bootable and bypass serial check.😉

How are you supposed to slipstream SP3 onto a Windows2000 CD? Isn't that impossible? Cool idea, but doesn't seem doable. Is there anything wrong with installing Windows2000 SP1, then just applying the new SP3?

there is nothing wrong with going from SP1 to SP2 to SP3. I just got done slipstreaming SP3 last night. It's so easy to do too.

I've installed SP3 on 2 of 22 computers, so far they seem to be running well. I haven't noticed a speed boost as some have, but the only glitch I've seen is the one where you open the Add/Remove Programs applet and if you click on something before it's done loading the default screen you get an "unexpected error" dialog that says something about something not being in focus. Just hit OK and it works fine.

anyonr able to follow the slipstreaming instructions on cdrwin5 ? they were written for cdrwin3.8b I can't find the settings they are talking about in cdrwin
