yes it IS about time my GPU was finally faster than yours ... since you don't OC ... my CPU will also edge you there ... i just need the MB and another HD2900xt

i have a "feeling" this was not the right price ... where do you see a brand new $400 item get blown-out for $320 without a lot of advertising and UNavailable in B&M stores?

i expect it would have been a "headliner" in their ad instead. i guess i will get the 'order canceled' ooS e-mail tomorrow ... even though i ordered before 7am PST.

That would suck indeed. Unless there is a rare sale, I have hardly ever seen BB sell a graphics card for less than MSRP.

Oh and BTW poppin, I have o/c'd the 6420 to 2.8GHz at stock voltage and cooling. 😀 . I figure with a better cooler and slight bump in voltage, over 3GHz will be a cinch.
And I got the GTS up to 625/1900. So don't count me out just yet!! hehehe. 🙂

P.S. And there is a QX6600 with my name and address on it come the price drops. Just for inflated 3DMark06 scores of course 😉 .

--OK ... i have been a good influence ... for some things

and no worries ... when i upgrade my MB, i full intend to push my e4300 waaay beyond 3Ghz with a monster Cooler and a massive over-voltage ... for better 3DMark07 scores of course ... and of course Penryn ... unless Barcelona is a real surprise

and of course ... IF this order goes thru, i will OC hd2900xt till i hear the Fan begging for mercy ... just short of smoke ... of course

i just kind of think it may have been a typo ... Eighty dollars off $400 is pretty good ... considering BB is still selling the x800p [agp] for $329

EDIT:
i just looked ... maybe not .... ALL the VisionTek GPUs are on sale at BB
--$239 for their x1950p AGP [$60 off] and $188 for the x1600xt [$47 off]

so ... likely VisionTek and BB

This deal makes things very interesting...I've been on the fence for days now & almost pulled the trigger on the 8800 GTS 640...I didn't because of the price...I really like this $320 price point without any rebates...

me too ... i almost got in on that $295 after $30 MiR 640-GTS ... but recently - off- and on-again since it came out - this is the card i want

BB sold out in less than a day today, Sunday ... or when they figured out they mis priced it
--BB never honors mispricing ... the ONLY thing that leads me to believe it is a real sale is that the other Best Buy VisionTek cards are on sale also

and my order has been "in processing" since 7 am ... so one never knows
--i am not 'expecting' to get it for $320 ... but it would be nice

this is about the 4th time in 7 years that i have been "in line" for a great video card deal ... i DID get in on the MicroCenter $200 x850xt ... but they had a LOT of 'em.
 
To the guy with the 750w wanting to run xfire, these things use more juice than 8800 GTXs not to mention you need the special 8pin adapter for the second PCI-E power connection on them. Also, there are 8800 GTS's on sale @ newegg for 329.99(after MiR) + 6.19 shipping for anyone wishing to go that route.

I sold my 8800GTX SLI when i saw 2900XT were coming out but to find out 2900XT wasn't beating up a 8800GTX in everything so i bought one 8800GTX and no more SLI since its buggy as hell.


AND what happened to that 2nd GTX?

You sold a GTX "before" you even saw the first benches of the 2900XT? Boy, now that's faith.
Well, as you said, SLI is somewhat buggy still for the 8800's. And 1 GTX is hefty enough.

you are one to talk Mr P4 EE/overpriced x1950xt AGP and super-expensive RAM ... i think you are just behind me in the upgrade cycle

naw ... i got the VisionTek x1950p back in December ... returned it and got the Sapphire [in February] shortly thereafter ... the 7800GS OC was an "interim" card ... that would have replaced the pro and as it turned out, it was just an "exchange" for my 850w OCZ

the MB died and i sold it for $15 ... got my "interim" MB for $25 [open box] ... the P4 EE sold for *exactly* what i paid for my C2D and i am only losing out on my PC3500 ... my x1950p should get at least $160

and i am the Boss at my work ... i gave myself a substantial raise based on my performance in increasing my company's sales substantially by simply improving our advertising

sorry man ... no openings ..

and no money to burn .... it isn't just that expensive

I paid the same amount of money that you paid for the P4EE cause I bought it in the same website as you! And even better, I sold off my CPU at 80 bucks, paying only 40 bucks for the CPU upgrade, I sold my vidcard also for 80 bucks and I ended paying only 220 bucks, the same price as the X1950PRO, and the only expensive part in this computer was the RAM cause I bought it when It came out and cost me 250 bucks 3 years ago Yikes!!! At that time (2004) this memory was like the crop of the cream hehe.
