This card is absolutely killer for the price, the 512-bit version is a lot better than the 256-bit one. Sadly ATI discontinued this model, so grab them while you still can. Newegg has already run out of them.

Free shipping now, which makes it $169.49!!!
Edit: I just couldn't pass it up at this price. Does anyone know if the stock cooler is adequate for overclocking?

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is this a good deal when you can get a 3850 for basically the same price or just a bit more depending on the brand.
Is the 3850 slower then the 2900 Pro? I thought it was close to matching even the 2900XT. Maybe I'm off base I don't know. I know you can get a 256MB 8800GT for $200 now nearly everywhere, it seems like you would want to spend just a tad more and get a newer card which should be better for newer games

That's a 256-bit, about 5% slower and not flashable to XT.
Good luck to all who ordered through eWiz. My order was canceled last night.

there was a deal on these about a week ago and I thought it was discovered that they were actually 256bit versions even though they were advertised as 512bit
power consumption was the deal killer for me, unless you plan to have it strictly for a gaming rig you'll switch off when not using it, the cost difference between this card and a 512MB 3850 or 3870 will quickly catch up via your electric bills

Is the 512MB 256bit 2900Pro better than a 3850 512MB? If so it's down to $134.
