I searched and didn't see this on the forum. OfficeMax had 256MB DDR in the local ad for $9.99. The ad didn't say what speed or brand, so I went to the store and found that it was RK-Byte and the speed is PC2700. The price is: 69.99 - 28 instant - 17 mail in - 15 mail in = 9.99 AR (plus tax). They had several in stock here in NE Indiana. I am guessing they'd sell more if they'd advertise the product in more detail.

It's so funny how OM has regional sale items. Not in my flyer, but sure enough it IS there when I put in a location in Indiana. :)

The deal is running in the DFW area - but my local OM was giving PC2100. Don't know what the deal is supposed to be. I'll go back and double check to make sure the SKU matches the ad.

right now in seattle at southcenter and next to safeco, office max are offering these sticks as substitute for $9.99. no rebates no nothing. i know at southcenter they have a few and next to safeco they have more than a few. so hurry and get it before its gone. I've bought 8 sticks, 2gigs for $80 bucks. popped 4 into my is7 and reads as 333mhz. in the front it lists as pc2100/2700 lifetime warranty. hot hot hot

Says $10 after rebate for Davis, CA. But store is out of stock and no clue as to when they'll have them in.

Bought the ram online [was out of stock and expected delivery of October 8th when I ordered, but got in stock the next day]. Delivered to my door by ups ground in 2 days [NJ to sw VA].
Runs at pc2700 speeds at 3-3-11 timings (2.5v) just fine. This is a great deal.

this spectek ram only runs stable in P4 rigs.

I had 5 of them from the deal 2 months ago, and the were free after rebates then.

in amd rigs they will work ok for a little while, then all of a sudden it will crash or error or freeze or something,.

this is from testing multiple AMD boards and multiple P4 boards.

the P4 rigs would loop 3dmark01 all night, the amd's some would bench 1 or 2 time but they would cause a error, I only seeed to get problems when runn 3d intensive stuff, in just desktop stuff they were ok most of the time.

I am sure there are people out there who bought these and will never know they got flakey ram , cause they will never play a 3d game.

the sale is in SoCal for Kingston 256MB PC2100 as well. 40 out of pocket, then 18 kingston MIR, and 12 OM MIR.

there was a limit of one per person so i think the rebates are one per as usual. Good luck finding a stick.

I just got the last or only one of the Kingston DDR /256 for $9.99 AR. Got home (stupid me ) and looked to see that it is also the PC2100. I was going to put it with my 512 DDR in one of my rigs. But alas I'm using PC2700 ! I'm going to check their Web site to see if there is a mix up. The printed ad doesn't specify PC2100 or PC2700 just says 256 DDR Kingston RAM. I see now from other people's posts that they got PC2100 also or they got that other brand!
Oh well I guess I'll be taking this back.
N. CA/Bay Area Location.

Did the person with the original posting see somewhere, where it stated PC2700 as that is what the HD header stated? Or did I read it in correctly?
