not bad. their 512MB sticks are almost triple that price.

nice deal for those who missed out on the gateway $50 off $200 w/ free shipping stuff. they had the kingston 512MB PC2100 DDR going for $168, add a $32 surge protector and you're at $150 + tax. even better if you grabbed the AOE or other games that were free after rebate instead, putting you at ~$150 + tax minus rebates.
 
If your not overclocking your system, ie the 1.6A P4, then this is a good buy. On the other hand dont expect much from generic ram:Q
 
Will PC2100 with in a PC2700 slot? They are backwards compatible, right?

Man, RAM is worth more than gold these days. 🙁

well, if u've checked crucial's site lately... they raised prices... maybe they will go down soon though ::fingers crossed::
 
I received my 256 MB chip today. The memory modules are Hynix made in Korea. Anyone know anything about this company ? Should I be concerned about this for my new Dell?
 
Hynix (Hyundai) are ok in general but they don't seem to be very consistent. Some say their sticks will do CAS2 up to 300mhz some say they can't get their's to do CAS2 at 266mhz me included (I think mine may actually be a bad stick though) I got mine at Fry's B&M and I wasn't expecting anything good from it anyway so I will just keep returning it until I get a good one now that I have a nice Crucial stick to rely on.
