I have ASRock Extreme 3 Gen 3 pair with i5 2500K, 1.25V OC to 4.8. When I run prime95, some time it shows 4.1 to 4.3 at CPU-z. You guys have same problem?

Your CPU may be throttling down under load. I'm assuming you are using Fixed or Offset mode for your CPU voltage, and your bios is similar or identical to mine.

Set your Turbo Boost Power Limit to Manual and your Short and Long Duration Power Limits to ~200 each. Set the Long Duration Maintained to 1. I used the settings the MB set them to for a 4.6Ghz auto oc.

Great CPUs liyi0522 and OP, wanna trade.

Thank you, I set it as offset. My bios version is 1.2. I will try it tonight. BTW I hit 5.0 last night with 1.32v.

Show voltage at 4.5 and I will trade ya plus $100. Using video . Post at you tube. Showing Running prime CPU-Z and temps

They should buy all of this batch at MC and resell on Ebay. It's been done before. I think they could easily get $250 each for them for a confirmed 5.0 Ghz below 1.4v batch.

Now I'm not only envious but a bit skeptical. Let's see a screenshot at 5.0 Ghz with IBT or LinX running at the Max setting (5 runs minimum, 20 would be better), CPU-Z, and CoreTemp V1.0, i.e.:

You should not be advising your father on how to OC his computer. Just walk away, slowly.

That is pretty awesome....Mine at 4.5ghz needed 1.28v under load to go 9+ hours....

Make sure you let prime95 run a bit...I see you took the screen pic at 30 min into the test. You may not have hit your highest temp or found stability.....My chip can run benches at 1.22v though not stable....can even run prime95 small FFT at 1.25v for 20-30 min before I stopped it. It did error out in OCCT/LinPack though...so I notched it up

Your load temps look in line...I am using a push pull method as well with an H100....I get 57-58c with that prime95 smallFFT test, whic would make sense since I am a bit more vcore than you....

Same here . But I back to stock speed . Its just a browser

Wow, Thread is quite popular lol.

Sorry, I have been too busy playing Skyrim to work on screen shots and any further overclocking. Since I have a stable system I have just been playing Skyrim instead of pushing it and messing something up.

Finals is next week so after that I will try to fit in both Skyrim and Overclocking for you guys.

I got from MC for $179, batch number is 3134b516! Sales Assoc ID is Enrico Dela Paz. I try to post the screen shot, but don't know how. Someone can help me?

Thank you so much, you are the only one help me. It is running 5.0Ghz under 1.34 to 1.35 on CPU-Z, and between 1.37 to 1.32 at CPUID Hardware Monitir. Full loading at Prime95, and temp are 57, 62, 65, 62.

Try to post the pic, but don't know how, I will post video later.

What is ibt? I am not try to sell my chip, I got from MC for $179, batch#3134B516. I am here try to get this chip full load.

IBT = Intel Burn Test

Checkout the sticky in this forum on OC'ing and stability, specifically the link in the OP on LinX. LinX is the same stress tester as IBT.

tell me how to post the pic, i can show you. I am recording vd now, will post on youtube later.
