my personal theory on evolution/big bang:

I believe that energy and matter are closely related and it possbile to convert one form another. (see Einstein and electron and positron collisions etc.)
I would say that the galaxy has a given amount energy, something that doesnt change and we can observe it on the minor scale with the various energy conservation rules. From that its not that far away to believe the universe has given amount of mass and evolution is just a part of the cycle before the universe colapses on itself turning back to energy (em waves). and the cycle keeps going

Not really. over the past 100 years, people have constantly revised evolutionary theory. As people have come up with better explanations for how life came to be, the newer and better supported material was incorporated into a constantly changing scientific theory.

When was the last time your bible/koran/whatever book was updated due to a new scientific discovery?

It makes sense if you subscribe to the Deus ex Machina thing. You know, God set everything up and then just put it in motion? This isn't my personal belief structure, but is certainly plauseable enough.

Most people who believe in both believe that everything God does can be explained scientifically (IE - 7 days of creation = big bang, forming of Universe, Creation of man = evolution of man, etc)
