I'm sorry but a 240 is not slow. My friend's 240 kicks about 340Hp to the wheels. I say sell the turbo for the integra and get a nice turbo for the 240.

SR20DET swap for the win.

I'd take the 240 over any honda any day.... I love those cars, they are classic.

Installing a turbo kit isnt all that hard, but the tuning will rape you. Are you sure you can afford that? People never think of auxiliary costs like the $2k to install and colormatch a body kit or the $3k for a good professional tuning job after the install.

Besides if you dont drive like a tard you'll be fine in the rain. WTF would you hammer it in the rain?

tuning should not cost 3k. Assuming you do all the installation yourself correctly, dyno tuning is typically $100-$150 an hour and the shops tell you 1 hr is usually enough.

1 hour tune? maybe if they already have a excellent basemap for a turbo kit that they install very often and your car is 100% average and all they have to do is run it and load it on the ecu(like a civic with a kit they install once a week)

My previous car, a Mr2 with a 2zzge bored and blown and modded with a MAP, emanage took 15 hours and a custom map for 2 boost levels. This shop had a base map for an celica gts with a turbo ready too, albeit not a good map, but it was workable.

A custom 2jzge fro a N/A Supra or a Sc300/Is300 turbo and a wideband maf or a MAP takes a good 10 hours for a shop that does it fairly often(once a month). A start from scratch no basemap custom install would take easily twice as long.(they charge 10k for kit, install and tune)

Of course a integra is a common car, but depending on the turbo and the other mods he might make, god knows how long it can take to properly tune it for smooth street driving with an oem quality perfectly smooth powerband. Of course you could half arse ti and get a decent driving exprience but sine its a daily driver, you will have to live with that everyday, so you better put up the big bucks to get it tuned perfectly.

Not sure if you guys know this, but LS (B18A/B) motors are dirt cheap. I also know people at the local shop, so I'm not really worried about getting the car tuned.

I saw many people posting about just getting a swap or turbo on the 240. I had both... RB20DET with a turbo upgrade, along with FMIC, 3" piping all the way back from the turbo, filter, and a boost controller, tuned on an SAFC II. It was nice and pulled well for it's power output but finding shops to do anything around here with regards to that motor is rare and EXPENSIVE. However, regarding hondas and acuras, there are 10000000000 stores, all of which offer good things at good prices (competition). This is why I opted for the integra.

Well, the crappy news is that the person that is buying my RB20 motor is also taking the intercooler with him, so I'm going to need a new one, with the piping redone, so I'm thinking about just selling the now-incomplete kit and keeping the 240.

Btw, the engine replacing the RB is the stock SOHC KA out of an 89. It runs fine, but the power output is very low... Has anyone driven a stock 240? What are your opinions? I don't remember what it felt like when my car was stock...

Sound like you need to downgrade to a Geo Metro to me. Afraid to drive RWD in the rain bah.

I'd much rather have the 240sx

I have driven a stock 240, a street prepared 240, and a Type-R (have not driven any other Integra). The 240's brakes are not so hot and the lack of LSD makes it wheel-spin like a mad man on a Solo track if you aren't careful. So, you need to upgrade the corners and find LSD for it when you add power. The 240 feels kind of heavy to me too.

You can possible find a LSD for 96 or later Integra. Get the non-VTEC motor and turbo it (VTEC turboing is tricky). Don't think it will retro into the first gen Integra. But I would assume someone makes a kit, just never bothered to care.

Who said anything about being afraid of driving in the rain? I said that I had a bad experience.

Buy an Integra and get a 300 horsepower wing and body kit.

Who said anything about a body kit? I don't understand why everyone makes the assumption that I'm going to throw a body kit and crap on an Integra. Many of you guys make generalizations about hondas and acuras, and quite frankly, it's stupid. Btw, nice M6, must have run you a good amount of money.

Whatever, I'm keeping the 240 and going with the M3 (unless any of you guys have a Ferrari F355 Spider laying around). Integra's are WAY too pricey after looking around.

Did you mean Supras are too pricey? Integras are cheap, dime a dozen.

I agree. Mention Honda or Acura on atot and prepare to get bashed for being a ricer. :roll:
Do what you want. Whether it be a four banger or gas guzzler.

I don't know if you were being serious about that or not. I hope not.

M6 = Manual 6 speed
A4 = Automatic 4 speed

usually people write MT as manual and AT as automatic. But nonetheless, selective reading ftl. It says GTO etc.

Pwned. I only read the first part and was like damn. Anywho, I'm going to pick up stock parts for the 240 (sold my coilovers, 5-lug, motor, and many other things) tomorrow. I just wish my 240 was a coupe.
