If you have an office max nearby I wouldn't hesitate they will exchange until you get a good one.

If you have to order online and dont have one for 50 miles then it isnt worth it.

What is the Office Max return policy? Is it the typical 30 days?

I 'think' it is 14 days for monitors.

does this thing come with a dvi cable.?
i need an inexpensive widescreen, gaming lcd. i'm torn between this and BB's 22" westinghouse.
my nine year old sony 420gs is getting tired....

yes, but some people think it is too cheap and can cause issues but I have no problems with mine.

How do you order online? The nearest OM store is more than 50 miles away. On the item page I simply can't put it into cart. The last message i got was "Product is not currently available. Please check your local OfficeMax store."

Office Max has got to have one of the worst commercial web sites I have experienced in a long time, it looks like it was designed by 2nd graders. I am afraid they will end up following Compusa as the next B&M to fail.

IMO, the included DVI cable is too cheaply made. I bought this one at the egg.

Tripp-Lite 10' DVI Cable

I just got one this morning.

All i can say is. WOAH !!

It is huge. I love it! I see no dead pixels yet, and no lines, yes it does put off some heat, but way less than my 19 inch crt.

I use it as my computer monitor and with windows media center. When im 3 inches away from it, looks good. When I set on my bed and watch TV 10 feet away, looks good.

I got the 49.99 replacement plan brings it to a total of 368. Not bad for a little of peace of mind.

Bottom line: If you need a bigger monitor and have 300bucks, get this. I suggest you get the replacement plan too, for 50bucks you can't beat it, take it back for anything, yes even a scruff.

Edit: as far as the game and ghosting goes, none so far... but I only played WoW and watched Spider-Man3, looks fantastic. Best 370 bucks i spent

Anyone knows something about this replacement plan? It covers from the date 1 year manufacture expires (kind of 3 years protection in total) or it starts from the date you purchased it and overlaps with the manufacture's warranty?

I got the 2 year replacement plan, it combines the one year from Soyo with OM and if you register online, you get 31 days free. Says it expires 01/31/2011 for me.

Says I can take it back for anything, a scruff, power blow, dead pixels, even if I drop it.
The way I read it, you call them, they send you an address for a local OM to drop it off, they give you a giftcard @ OM for the same price. imo thats great! Shit, 3 years from now, ill trade it in for something else hehe.

I picked up this monitor today feeling extremely skeptical reading some of the issues. Hooked it up and played some Call of Duty 4. Wow. This is much, much better than I imagined it could be. No problems out of the box and I'm using my own monoprice DVI-D cable.

No regrets as of yet. I'm coming from a 20.1" Dell 2001FP monitor. The Soyo blows that LCD away.

I got the 1-year Office Max warranty for $29.99. Since that's in addition to the manufacturer's warranty, that effectively makes it a 2-year Office Max warranty. That should be good enough.

Using an American Express or Gold Mastercard/VISA card would have doubled the manufacturer's warranty to 2 years automatically. No need to spend $29.99 + tax.

Does that work with a platinum mastercard too? I used a platinum citibank mastercard to buy mine.

Probably covered but check your Terms of Service or give them a call.

I got in on the previous deal and have been using it for a bit now. I am using it as a secondary one (dual monitors). My other one (main) is the gateway FPD2485W. I gotta say quality is darn good for the price. No issues at all and overall very sweet. Dual monitors is the way to go if anyone else is thinking about it 🙂
