24 blocks is not much to walk to work, is it?

24 blocks in 10 minutes seems optimistic, but I've never lived in a city.

If each block is 1/10th of a mile that's 2.4 miles.

If you are in DC, buy a pass for the metro and use it. The 90+ degree days in the summer will kill you if you walk.

As others have said, it depends on how long each block is. Here in NYC, an average 24 block walk would be a bit over 20 minutes IMO 🙂

Impossible. 24 blocks is at least a couple miles I would think. So unless you are running and will be sweaty once you arrive, try twenty min.

PS even 20 min is a jog/walk.

Fat kids in HS used to take at least 9 min to do a mile.

A fast runner can make the trek in about 10 minutes in a near dead sprint the entire time. Any normal person walking I suspect will take 30 mins or so.

Of course, most people willing to walk 24 blocks are walking a bit faster than average. Still, a lot longer than 10 minutes...
