I was able to get two of these from two different Staples locations in northern NJ. They work well with DVI, but I can't get either to work through HDMI at all. Sometimes, my Win 7 and AMD CCC graphics managers detect the display through HDMI, but can't actually show anything through either dupication, extension, replacement, nor Eyefinity. Using my TV setup (receiver, blu-ray, cable STB and TV with HDMI) and laptop (also HDMI), I've tried various combinations of cables, sources and displays to narrow down possible culprits but every other piece checks out OK.

Another oddity I found was that the On Screen Display doesn't work unless you've already got a working connection (as I have through DVI.) Is this the way it's supposed to work? I'm guessing no, because how would one switch inputs if autodetect source was off?

I noticed some similar problems mentioned on the HP support forums, but none of the suggestions have worked (updating monitor driver, resetting monitor, etc.)

A DVI setup is all I need for now, but it bothers me that the HDMI doesn't work. I guess I can try to exchange, even after the sale is over.

Is anyone else having this same problem with their recent 2311x purchase?

I've got my computer connected to the HDMI port on the 2311x, but my video card doesn't have HDMI-out and I'm using a DVI-to-HDMI adapter on the card. It works without problems.

My Acer Iconia A500 tablet won't work with the HDMI port, though. the tablet has a built-on micro HDMI port. Neither the tablet nor the display detects the connection UNLESS I turn off the 2311x. Then, the tablet detects the HDMI display. If I turn the 2311x back on, the tablet drops the HDMI connection. It works just fine when connected to the DVI port via a DVI-to-HDMI adapter, though, except the tablet disables the onboard speakers and I have no sound.

It was listed as out of stock where I live too, but I went into the store and looked up at the top shelf where all the monitors are kept and I saw one up there, so I managed to snag one.

How is the picture quality with this monitor? I've read about some unequal brightness issues from one side of the screen to the other.

BestBuy is having these for 120 on BF and I'm thinking about grabbing a couple.

I bought one from Staples and don't see that issue on mine. Image quality surprised me. Better than what I expected.
