and with price drops being mentioned, anyone notice the price drops on the P4 - 2.8 and 3.06 cpu's? newegg is carrying them for $365 and $598 respectively.

of course, at those prices, we could be buying anywhere from 4-6 AXP 2100+ cpu's, haha.

just my $0.02 :)

i'd rather by 4-6 2100+ :)

im telling... there's a winner out there that can do 2.5 at 1.7V or less... !!!!! but i'm done.... no more 2100+'s for me...

can't wait til someone starts a 2500+ barton thread... hehehe...

Xp2100 0304 can do 2.5Ghz at 1.7v?!?!?!?

THERE HAS TO BE!!! I KNOW IT!!!

just... can't... find... it... :)

You need rest dude. Go sleep. :p

ok, here's my update:

so far, i have gotten my axp2100+ to 2350 MHz using a 180.8 fsb and a nforce2 mobo. However, my temps are at 50°C at the moment. need to do some more testing to see how stable she can get.

btw, i am using a 1.85 VCore at the moment. would upping to 1.90,1.95, or 2.00 really be risking this cpu???

Just got my 8rda+ and XP 2100 (0304)

Had it at 170 x 13 but failed prime 95 (very well may be my crucial 2100 tho, running it at speed w/ agressive))
Volt at 1.75

Have it now at 166 x 13 and she ran prime NO problem for 6 hours straight. Max temp I have yet to see is 39c under load
she usually sits at 33-35c.

I am not going to push mine more until I gtet some better ram in a week or 2. I am goin for the twinmos/winbonds 256 x2 pc3200

EDIT- just dropped my ram tikings down a bit to 7-3-3-2.5 and pumped the 210 back up to 170fsb @ 2.22 @ 1.25v and she is running nice-no prime 95 errors @ 37c

This thread isn't dead yet...lol. I've been wondering if FSB speeds are limited to the processor or the chipset/memory config. On this GA-7vaxp it seems to be limited to around 376fsb even though the memory is synced. and below its 400mhz spec. So I'm wondering if it's the chipset that won't allow any higher speeds? this board doesn't have agp and pci lock so i know that's an issue as well, just wanting some input on the subject.

Okay...

I gave up on my 0304 Tbred B 2100+

it can do 2400 @ 1.8V HOWEVER temps run high...
prime95 fails after two hours because temps got up to 52... (checked temp log using USDM ... saw that when it got to 52, it stopped)....

i know this chip has more room... i'm thinking that watercooling may help...

this chip is for sale so... go check the fs/ft forum!!! :)

Oh I'm good now running 12.5*180FSB @ 2250mhz @ 1.775v stable so far will not post @2300 at all bummer! I paid $17 extra to get this week and stepping 0248. I changed Bios to the latest before the CPU change. the Bios will support 2600+ now even though I passed that mark long ago now it just reports as a Athlon 2250mhz processor :) only at 45C under load 40 idle I thought I had more room to get higher than 2250 I set the Vcore to 1.825 but still it would not post at 2300. I am unwilling to go higher on the Vcore as I keep my CPUs for awhile and dont want a P4ish northwood OC syndrome where the chips just quit after sucking up too much juice. :(

I wish I did not pay extra for the guaranteed stepping and the 2100+ itself it seems the 1700's hitting 2100mhz is a better value. but I think 2250 Mhz in this old Iwill XP333-R board will extend it's life to the end of the year at least.

After my debockle with excaliburpc.com (which was amicably resolved) about my HyperX PC3000 order Googlegear is now pissing me off not shipping me a second stick of ram for some reason here is a link to my bad experience. At the Hardforums there is a lot of Googlebashing and Now I see why their customer service is quick but indifferent to the customers needs.

TO keep it going a little longer :)

my 0304 2100 is now at 11.5 x 200 @ 2305 primed for 4-5hours or so which is stable enough for me :)
Vcore is 1.77. Mem is 5-2-2-2

temp is 35 idle 38 under prime 95 load.

I hope to contribute to this thread positively next week. I ordered a Tbred "B" 2100+ for use on my Epox 8K3A+ board and I should get it Tuesday. I can't wait.

Can anyone recommend a good quite heatsink/fan combo for the 2100+? I have a Epox 8RDA+ and planning to overclocking this puppy.

he is VERY very very kidding about that. i just bought the 2100 with slk-800 and tornado. i can hear my comp from anywhere in my 3 bedroom apt. on the other hand, my cpu temperature is always the same as my case temp.

it's not as bad as the Delta 60mm screamer i had.
it also had a whiny sound added to it.
i jumped on the chance to get a new cooler immediately after i got the cash.

Are all produced Athlon 2100+ with AIHUB stepping? Or is there a risk that I'll be getting some other stepping(if I buy elsewhere than newegg)?
