"non-partisan" school board election, with every available seat having an anti-woke crusader running, targeting to take over a majority for the insane.
(And a number of other local government positions that appear to have sane candidates competing.)
Luckily only one of the three candidates here is that, and the instructions said vote for two. That was an easy decision. 🙂

Here in Colorado we have one of the most complicated ballot questions I've ever seen.

I voted no on the general principle that it's too complicated.
Good call I would probably have made the same choice. Sometimes what you know is better that chancing it on a new thing.

Even if it passes with 2/3rds voting yes, Repugnicans will still push for some type of ban. Why would they ever listen to voters.

I think they would have to legally declare this as an in kind contribution to Sherrod Brown's reelection campaign.

Issue 1 to pass in Ohio. Issue 2 (weed) looking ok but too soon to know yet.

Good for the people of Ohio, blocking the imposition of anti-science Christian Sharia law by Republicans on abortion.

Bad for the 2024 elections that it was on ballot now, rather than alongside the 2024 election to more actively penalize Republicans for their underhanded actions.

I'm thinking that a democrat winning gov in one of the reddest states, and by a much wider margin than he did last time, is a positive sign. Basheer purportedly doing much better than expected in rural areas.

Also, it seems that red leaning Ohio just put abortion rights into its state Constitution, by a 13% margin. Also legalized weed in Ohio by 11 points.

I hope all this means the national mood isn't too terrible for democrats.

But the polling…. Democrats are in trouble…

/eye roll

I do think we need to take the polling seriously and start shelling the Rs on the issues, as indicated in these votes, that resonate with voters. And that Trump is still a huge pile of shit.

NJ Ds coming out guns blazing this year after shitting the bed in 2021. Nice to see some people can still learn.

I kind of loathe ballot initiatives. I elect representatives to make informed decisions. I don't always have the time or energy to unpack the meaning of initiatives that deal with nmthe nitty gritty of state laws.
Republicans have shown us they can’t be trusted with the will of the people. They want to rule not govern.
