It was part of my pay and benefits. They teach me a skill set in trade for me killing people with nuclear weapons on command. 😛

Look you may or may not agree. Military pay is low for what you are required to do. Transfer and move your entire family every few years. Going on long deployments away from family and friends, my longest was 7 months with an expecting wife back home. I didn't even see my son until he was a month old. Going to sea on submarines with no contact at all with anyone for 90 days at a time. Get called in to work and leave for a few weeks or longer without any notice given.

In return I received top quality training, pay, medical & dental care, housing or housing allowance, meals or meal allowance and after 20 years I receive 50% of my highest pay for the rest of my life. Medical coverage (Tricare / Tricare for life) for my wife and myself. Oh and lets not leave out the GI Benefits for school which I did not use as I already had an excellent career as an electronics tech lined up. I have since retired from that also and receive a company pension. Social Security & Medicare which I paid into for 50 years. No teat sucking going on at all. It was a contractual agreement between uncle Sam and myself. I do my part and then he does his.

Sorry that all the youngsters have hurt feelings. No pain no gain.

blah blah blah, taxes paid your way

It’s weird and amazing at the same time. He’s completely oblivious to the fact that he was apart of what could be considered the most socialist thing about this country. Like how unaware does one have to be to not understand that tax payers paid for his entire livelihood? And how fucked up does one have to be to be against allowing others to benefit from the same government he’s leeched off of for his entire life?

Government for me but not for thee. Or just more of, fuck you, I got mine, mentality.

Enjoy your life pcgeek, I hope the government, and by extension the American people, take care of you and allow you to have a comfortable life. It’s just a shame you are against others being taken care of or policies and politicians that want what you got for all Americans.

Cognitive dissonance on full display. Sad really…

The Republicans have to realize that at some point they have to actually have some sort of policy.
...
Their only success during Trump's tenure as President was to install numerous whack federal judges including those on the SC and a massive tax cut for the uber rich. Not exactly a chicken in every pot for all Americans.
They have a policy. You even talked about it!
What they don't have is a popular policy, but they don't need one when your policy is to subvert democracy to win elections without winning the popular vote.
Republican's policy priorities is to install judges that will favor their political maneuvering, and to manipulate the system to undermine popular vote to keep them in power without having to represent the majority of their constituents. They realized at some point that the only thing that holds the wheels on democracy is the judiciary, so they have spent a decade attacking that weak point.

...
I have traveled the world over many times. You cannot imagine how much I have been exposed to ideas, diverse stories, history and facts. Also diverse peoples and cultures.

I wanted to see exotic Vietnam… the crown jewel of Southeast Asia. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture… and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!

These are great days we're living, bros. We are jolly green giants, walking the Earth — with guns. These people we wasted here today are the finest human beings we will ever know. After we rotate back to the world, we're gonna miss not having anyone around that's worth shooting.

Been there, done that. Have some scars as souvenirs.

(and yes, I know where that quote is from)

The conservative answer to Occasional Cortex.

I mean, one has some pretty impressive degrees and the other one reportedly got a "sympathy pass" on her 3rd (or was it 4th?) GED attempt. Oh, and AOC hasn't killed her neighbor's dog and tried to hide from it. And her husband hasn't exposed himself to a minor. Oh, and she doesn't have a rap sheet as long as a CVS receipt.

But other than that, yeah sure.

The red wave, when you just barely eke a win out in a heavily favored R district.

lol she barely won an R+6 district in a midterm election with her party out of power.

I genuinely hope she is your answer, just like I hope you guys keep trotting out Trump. You should make those two the face of your party!

Republican candidate for South Dakota state House of Representatives (against four other candidates, one of whom was his mother), charged with rape just days after losing the election.

May forced himself on her in a bathroom stall at a bar, telling her, “I am 6′8, white, it is all consensual.” May then fled the scene but was later detained by police. He initially denied involvement, but then claimed, “it was simply a hug.”

Only the best people!
