That would be quite impressive since there are a total of only 435 House Seats. Repubs will likely land around 220 members. Also, it's the opposite effect than you've described. The narrower the majority is for the GOP, the less able McCarthy will be able to control his caucus. Not only will the MAGA wing make his life miserable, they will actively try to shut down the federal government and create all kinds of other chaos (i.e. impeaching POTUS or his cabinet members).
I'm pretty sure he meant 222-213. The Democrats will just need to find a few moderate Republicans, for example from NY.

Kelly looks certain for a win, and even Hobbs looks better than she did earlier - although that one will probably go down to the wire.

I looked at the margins for Clark and Washoe counties in Nevada, and I'm afraid it will be hard for CCM to close the gap. :( But it is unknown what the "makeup" of the remaining ballots is like, because Nevada went to a universal mail-in voting standard this time.

From everything I've been reading, it seems that she may have the votes to actual close the Gap. Did new numbers come in?

Any R in a Biden district by more than a few points will have immense opportunities in a very narrowly split house. Especially if the GOP caucus degenerates into an uncontrollable clown show.

Completely disagree. I live in Republican land and people here LOVE Trump for being an asshole. Not as a lesser of two evils like you seem to think, but as someone who echoes all the anger and grievances they have been spoonfed for decades by the right wing mass media without apology. Clear Channel and Fox News have been priming their audience to want someone just like Trump for decades and now they have it. They voted for Romney because they hate the libs but they fucking love the Dear Leader.
Agreed. I think some people might be underestimating how many people actually do love that guy. No it's not enough to win elections anymore but it's enough that it can really fuck up the Republican party.

So far DeSantis has become popular a lot through right-wing media hype and some actions but he really hasn't had to handle questioning or real campaign. He's not an inspiring personality at all

He's just not that personable and not good in a lot of those venues that presidential candidates are forced to be in. I think Trump can easily make him look stupid, or at least dull and uninspiring, while also making himself look stupid.

Well no one here anyway lol. Only real question in AZ is what happens in the gov race.
Hobbs is going to win, all rural counties and Mohave are already approximately at or above 90% already counted, and Prima County has just received another batch of approximately 20,300 mail-in ballots. It seems that Lake is going to loose.

Some votes did just drop within the past hour, and she's closed the gap! But I'm still not optimistic because her margin in Clark County is 51.5/45.6. (I'm sort of assuming remaining ballots resemble the current count, but that is obviously not at all certain.) CNN estimates only about 9% of votes remain uncounted in Clark County. Washoe County is a dead heat, so it shouldn't shift the margin much at all. We'll know more in a couple days, at this rate. It's gonna be very tight.

The GQP shitting on all young voters is great, if the Dems just use some of these clips in ads, it could certainly backfire big time on the shitty GQP - I mean I'd get motivated if the GQP was calling my entire generation dumb assholes who are the main problem in the count

From story at NY Times:

Tina Kotek wins Oregon governorship

Tina Kotek, a progressive Democrat who faced a pair of well-funded challengers, was elected to lead Oregon, according to The Associated Press.
Ms. Kotek’s victory, declared on Thursday, will make her and Maura Healey, the barrier-breaking attorney general who won the Massachusetts governor’s race this week, the first openly lesbian governors in American history.
Voters previously elected a gay man as governor (Jared Polis of Colorado, who was re-elected on Tuesday) and a bisexual woman (Kate Brown of Oregon), both of whom are also Democrats.
Ms. Kotek, a former Oregon State House speaker, defeated Christine Drazan, a Republican, and Betsy Johnson, a Democrat-turned-independent who campaigned as a centrist.

With a reputation in state government as an aggressive political operator, Ms. Kotek, 56, is known for twisting arms in the Democratic caucus to achieve her policy goals and, detractors said, occasionally breaking promises along the way.
She campaigned as a protector of Oregon’s liberal values, arguing that either of her opponents would threaten the state’s status as a haven for abortion rights and environmental protection while also saying that she alone could solve a yearslong homelessness crisis in Portland, the state’s largest city.

I'd like to see all gerrymandering eliminated but the chances of that is slim to none
At least it is actually being talked about. Not just the typically narrative of when dems get 55% of the votes and 40% of the seats "The dems just aren't offering what the public wants."

People hailing DeSantis as some kind of God, meanwhile Gretchen Whitmer not only won her re-election as Gov of Michigan in a state that tried to kidnap her, but Democrats took control of the state house.

Despite what the right wing media says, Whitmer is a far bigger story.
So glad the likes of John Engler are gone, and whatever his first name was, Devos lost huge. Fuck both them guys.

That should have been 222 to 213. Obviously. You also don’t understand the powers of the Speaker. They literally have control over what comes up for debate or vote. That doesn’t matter because McCarthy is with the crazys. A lot of the new Republicans in office are from dem leaning or true tossup districts. They aren’t going to go on record and vote for crazy. If they do they will get wiped out in ‘24. You know what starts the day after Election Day for a member of the House of Reps? Their next election.

One thing I do agree on with Fox News and Hannity, AZ is F-ked up.
It should never take this long to count a few ballots, and the numbers they are counting vs the over-all does amount to a few ballots when weighted against that over-all number.

No way Lake for gov, but she does promise to fix the screw-ups in AZ ballot counting, and that is definitely a plus for her side. And these morons AZ has coming out there to the media to give excuses on why the court is taking so long? Maybe if AZ hired someone who actually had an IQ above 12 then maybe the counting would be finished already.

It's designed to be this way by their GOP state level legislature.

Bill Gates the republican in charge of Arizona counting was disputing why it’s taking so long. Their legislation requires all of these procedures. They also accept ballets up Election Day. Most other states cut off a week ahead.

The House Speaker wields such power only if they can control their own conference. Judging by the past 12 years, McCarthy has about 0 chance of that happening. John Boehner was the ultimate insider and establishment Repub, and he basically quit/retired in protest. Paul Ryan ultimately accepted a similar fate. Both had better than the 9 seat margin you are projecting.

Those moderate Repubs you refer to may (wouldn't hold my breath) cross the aisle to support must-past legislation such as raising the debt ceiling. And of course, they will have self-preservation on their minds. With just 222, McCarthy will have almost no ability to control the Freedom Caucus loons in his own party. Folks like Matt Gaetz wouldn't even vote for McCarthy to become Speaker, much less work with him in any meaningful way.

It's somewhat of a moot point anyway. The GOP won't be able to pass any legislation unless it's bipartisan. What the House will do is investigate the shit out of anything and everything a la Benghazi and buttery emails.

So apparently the dems picked up the majority of voters who said they "somewhat disapproved" of Biden. Which has never happened before. What that says to me is that people who do not like or trust Trump and the GOP, really do not like or trust Trump and the GOP.
