Is it common for Steelers fans to hate on the Eagles? As a Philly guy, I don't have any hate for the Steelers and happily root for them in the AFC. I went to Penn State and my group of friends was pretty equally divided between Steelers and Eagles and was had some friendly jeering, but I think all of us rooted for the other if our team was out. Maybe it was just because we were a group of friends, though.

My dad was from a small farm town in NW PA, about 100 miles from Pittsburgh. He hated the Iggles...so I grew up hating the Iggles. Every die-hard Steelers fan I've ever known hated the Iggles..and that's just as it should be.

Yeah...Super Bowl will suck for me. USUALLY, even if on of my teams isn’t in it, there’s a team I can root for...not this time. As a Steelers fan for almost 60 years, I CANNOT root for the Iggles at all...and as a Cheatriots hater...we’ll...you can probably guess...
Might be a good day to drive over to the coast.

A Squeelers fan calling the Patriots cheaters? Hilarious. Giants caught the Squeelers last year with deflated footballs, Cowher admits to stealing signals - http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2014...dy-tried-to-steal-signals-not-just-belichick/ Tomlin goes onto the field to trip a player. Head doctor charged with 180 counts of illegal distribution of steroids. Got to love stupid people. Been following football for 60 years and clueless of the gamemanship that goes on in the league. Great to see the Squeelers lose to the Pats again and see them lose to the Jags.

Really?, I was expecting this to be a close game and possibly a loss, I had zero issue with the Jag's "swag", they are a young team. I DO have an issue with attempting to concuss the opposing teams best offensive player (minus the QB) to get that victory. That hit was an obvious attempt to accomplish exactly that, cheap as shi* play.
I don't think there was an intention to injure Gronk. I don't think head to head was intended, I think it was accidental, based on the replay. In addition to watching the replay closely, you have to realize that anyone doing a head to head contact is endangering himself as much as the other guy.

Only the person commiting the act is knowing they are going nowhere and looking to insure the other guy is going nowhere, too.

I think the New England/Jacksonville game was the most predictable comeback I've ever seen. The fact that Jacksonville generated almost zero pressure on Brady meant he was going to pick them apart. It was fun to see Ramsey with a costly PI after they talked him up so much this postseason.

They're kinda meh nowadays but back in the 90s watching the Eagles was fun because of Randall Cunningham. Just like Barry Sanders made it impossible to really hate the Lions or Deion Sanders any team he played for. The NFL doesn't really have anything close to those guys nowadays although Josh Gordon might have human highlight reel potential if the NFL lost its whole 1980s thinking about marijuana.

Welp, time to turn the game off and get some work done, I guess.

I stopped watching this game in the 2nd qrtr after the Vikes failed to respond to the first 2 Philly TD's, came back near then end of the 3rd qtr and saw they were still at 7 pts, Philly at 30, and the Vikes failing on that 4th down throw to the endzone that touched the ground. ...guess I'll figure out what happened for the rest of the game when I finish reading this thread now.

I knew the Jags were going to lose by 1 score when they took a knee with a minute left and 2 times outs at the end of the first half. I bet those idiots wished they didn't do that now huh. Even if they went down and got 3, at the end they would be down 1 and only need a FG instead of a TD.

Idiots. That was very Redskins of them.

Haven't watched a single complete game this season, turned on the Eagles/Vikings game and was bored of it within 10 minutes.

Pats in the superbowl, what else is new. I'll probably still end up at some SB party just to eat good food and hangout. I don't know what happened, but last year was the end of my interest in football.

Earlier in the day, workers in Philadelphia who jokingly called themselves the "Crisco Cops" greased light poles to try to prevent fans from climbing up them after the game.

During the fourth quarter, Philadelphia police posted an image of Crisco on Twitter. While urging fans to celebrate responsibly, they wrote, "Now comes the time in the night where we must warn everyone about the dangers of Saturated Fats."

😀

The videos of the classy Philly fans are amusing. Got me thinking I should root for the Pats now anyway 😀

Initially, I thought that hit could have been a cheap shot. But after seeing Barry Church dancing around and celebrating Gronk on the ground, there's absolutely not doubt in my mind he intended to knock Gronk out of the game. It came right when we trying to integrate him into the game plan and he was starting to beat their double teams little by little. Church knew exactly what he was doing. And don't give me the lead with the should shit either. You don't get that cracking sound when a shoulder hits a helmet. And Gronk's midsection isn't a small target, pretty damn hard to miss.

Honestly, people need to make up their minds. Either the league wants the Pats to win or lose. They can't both suspend Brady for 4 games and take away a #1 pick over BS or they tell the reps to help them win.

And in the NFL, catching a pass on your helmet means control, while pinning it to your thigh means a fumble? They gave that to the Jags and they still complain.

After the first half, I totally expected the Patriots to win. It would have been MORE surprising if they didn't make a comeback. I don't know if that's more to do with their reputation or if I thought the JAX couldn't keep up their high level of play both offensively and defensively.

This makes me LOL at how stupid people are. They just like to cry about the Patriots either way though.

I don't ever assume those hits are cheap shots since I've played enough football to know that tackles happen impossibly quick, and you are never in the same exact position twice. But that hit was a penalty and in college he would have been thrown out of the game for targeting.

I've played plenty of football as well. I am fairly certain i was never taught to tackle anyone with my arms tucked in and leading with my helmet either. I get that Gronk is hard to take down, but I believe a play or two before I think it was Ramsey that hit him square in the midsection after he caught a ball and Gronk went right down. So it's not like you absolutely have to hit him in the knees or the head to get him down.
