Looking at the Broward numbers, it looks like both candidates are "missing" about the same amount of votes, if we assume that everyone votes for the same party in the governor race and the Senate race (which is probably not true, given how the governor race is not as close as the Senate race). Scott (R) is missing 10736 votes and Nelson (D) is missing 10345 votes.
Are you applying the statewide result percentages to heavily democratic Broward? The split there is 70-30. There are 26,000 missed senate votes on ballots so far. That’s about 18200 to 7800.

No.

In the Senate race:
Nelson has 469969 votes in Broward.
Scott has 210599 votes in Broward.

In the governor race:
Gillum (D) has 480314 votes in Broward.
DeSantis (R) has 221335 votes in Broward.

480314 - 469969= 10345.
221335- 210599= 10736.

Yeah that’s not how it works either. There were only 2 senate candidates. There were 6 for governor who received votes as well.

The likely ratio is total missing votes divided by share of vote received.

While true (that there were 4 other governors), according to CNN, Gillum and DeSantis received 99.3% of the vote. According to 538 I'm still missing around 3 thousand votes, but that wouldn't be enough anyway to change the Senate race result. Also, if those 3 thousand did indeed vote for one of the other candidates it isn't far-fetched that they didn't vote for a D or R in the Senate race.

Looked at ballot in link... Are you fucking shitting me? That's how they vote? Filling in ovals with pens? What sort of caveman bullshit is that?

Good Lord... Could we cancel a couple of F-22s and spend the money on proper instruments of democracy?
Hahah, that's our tickets in Ma as well. At least early voting which I assume is the same. Are you all tech'd up with them fancy computers?

I don't think that's a reasonable way to look at it. There are more than a few people in FL who just won't vote for black politicians. That makes the Governor's race different from the Senate race, particularly when we're talking about a small % of votes. I think the proportionality between Nelson & Scott would be more likely to hold true.

Manual like. It's been so long since we heard about the caravan, they move fast....

The best thing about the caravan is that now they are opening specific parts of the border to encourage and allow the caravanars to be processed at those points in an orderly fashion. (admin rule, I think)

lol.

how about that, eh? Suddenly, not really a threat at all! I really wonder when idiots will stop being idiots, and stop voting GOP.

That's how mail in voting works here in CO, as well. Proven technology. Highly recommended. Extremely tamper resistant. No lines, no bullshit, no insecurities about the people waiting behind you. Plenty of time to figure out ballot initiatives & stuff like that. You can still vote in person, if you want, even register or change your info on election day.

The last time that I ever voted at an actual polling place was back in 1998 when I voted yes for universal vote-by-mail.
It is simply unfathomable to me that people in this country still have to take time off work to drive to a polling place to wait in line and then be rushed to vote in a crowded little booth. I voted 2 weeks ago in the comfort of my own home, with plenty of time to review all the issues and candidates before choosing my votes. I will happily fill in a few ovals for that privilege.

...too bad you did it while spewing bullshit about reids obstruction.
Eh?
You might say the Senate was entirely uncompromising since the '08 elections.

Does that bring us back to your quote?

The senate, in general, should be compromising so that issues from any state can be addressed. Sometime that means the will of the majority get addressed and other times it means the will of minority get addressed. The overall arching theme should be ensuring the general welfare of the people.

Nice spin though.

Wonder whose Senate you were referring to. Certainly not the one in Washington DC!

Excuse me, but those stalled bills were pretty much business as usual, despite the GOP using them as an avenue of attack-

And I'd suggest that by the time 2014 rolled around Reid was sick of the GOP using endless amendments as obstruction. Reid wasn't obstructionist- they were.

I think what @skooma is saying is that it's weird that tens of thousands of voters wouldn't notice that they didn't vote for the senate race. Which is essentially what 538 are saying.
You should never assume anything about voters, or the masses. I’d refer to the old George Carlin joke: “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

There’s clearly a meaningful undervote for that office in Broward County. It remains to be seen if the cause is the ballot design, or a problem with tabulation machines as the Nelson campaign asserts, or something else entirely.

Good job bubble boy, had you been paying attention or understood what you read you would have understood that Republicans were obstructing by proposing endless amounts of amendments among the many other tactics they frequently used.

Any more bullshit you feel like posting to make yourself look like an even bigger ass?

Deplorables don't do facts and they certainly don't pay attention to reality when it doesn't fit their narrative.

I continue to be amazed by the fact that jaskalas was able to see through Republicans economic policy bullshit and yet he continues to fall for all their other bullshit. I don't know if he's just stupid, gullible, or just still brainwashed but either way, its a shame, I had hope for him.

Absolutely agree. Don't have any out here, but when I visit my brother in Ashburn, Va, we usually make a stop. They have like 3 hot food lines, and Cheerwine soda.

no one likes Cheerwine. ANd I'm from NC.

Only the self-hating NC folk like Cheerwine. Don't even try, bro.

...I need to check out this Wegmans....and I'm not FL champion, but god damn if Publix isn't a superior generic supermarket above nearly all others., Let's see, Wegmans, let's see...

GOP looks on track to lose 6 seats in CA, including all of Orange County. Bye Comrade Dana.

Final Dem House gain probably close to 40 seats.

Hey, my ex turned me on to real western NC BBQ and Cheerwine at the same time (her mom was from Salsbury). It's hard to separate the 2.

I knew that was going to happen the moment trump fucked californias taxes.

Yeah that was a big fuck you to California and the North East.

Weird thing is I’d support some caps provided it was market based like the top x% type thing.

Lol I don't understand why is mortgage tax deductible in the first place. Why should other taxpayers shoulder your voluntary debt choice?

It shouldn’t be, I agree. They should have repealed that while cutting taxes for the areas most affected in other ways.

Since the areas most affected don’t vote for them though they just said fuck it.
