Was about getting to the point of "Why Isn't Rush in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" level.

Nah, I thought it was a great movie. Very good procedural and not overly cloying or oscar-baity like I thought it would be.

I would have preferred Mad Max or The Revenant though.

I'm sure it was good, I still haven't seen it. I'm a Ruffalo fan...I will see it some day. ...but come the fuck on--it wins nothing else, and suddenly best picture. I know all of these awards should technically be mutually exclusive, but they really aren't when you think about merit.

It makes me think the voters just get together and collude on how to distribute awards some years. I think the Oscars is usually pretty good most years, but this was just a very strange way to vote.

It was a bit weird overall from a flow perspective, but I'm pretty sure we have seen something like this before I picked Spotlight as my best picture winner and as soon as Inarritu won director, it was a lock.
