Aww get oughta here 😛

But one of the cool things about Max was there wasn't a lot of digital editing.

The black stuff is just not funny, it got old in about 2 minutes. I have never watched the Oscars really, now I see why. But until 8, there really isn't anything on to watch. The stuff Max is winning for, is right on the money.

Did anyone ever stop to think there were no good actors of color that deserved to be nominated this year?

#whinewhinecrycry

Not to get political or anything, wrong forum for that but it's about getting roles and stories. I've yet to see many Asian actors be given a leading role in hollywood outside of Ben Kingsley and that's because he looks white and changed his name.

Apart from that, I stopped watching the oscars around 2009 when The Dark Knight wasn't even nominated and it was the best movie by far that year.

lolno

surprised about special affects--Ex Machina was good and all, but that kind of thing is so standard these days. I thought it would be between Star Wars (for basically creating this category so many years ago) and Mad Max, for doing it right and saying eff you to all the lazy ass computer bullshit.

but they went to neither. very strange.

I thought for sure that this one was Mad Max's category to lose. If it doesn't get director, then I will fly to Florida and shit in Alkemyst's mouth.

mark rylance...wow. I only know that guy from the Wolf Hall show...which no one else has watched. (he's fantastic in that, by the way)

lol

The black/white stuff is clearly annoying some people but it's actually different and entertaining compared to the cookie-cutter stuff of the last few years. Only thing I remember from previous years: Ellen's selfie and Neil Patrick Harris in tighty whities.

Because Asians never cry racism. They are busy getting good paying jobs to worry about that silly stuff and ask for handouts.

Yep, it's pretty good watch it if you haven't.

chris rock just summarized what I was thinking--how do you follow up a clip of Ukranians getting their brains bashed out in a snowy plain and give the award to....some show about amy whinehouse?

lol?

I'm sure it's a good piece, but damn. A doc about the cartel, one about a superpower invading a sovereign nation after instigating an internal civil war...and a disastrous self-destructive celebrity wins the story award.

shit man.

chris rock and rickie gervais did this same sort of thing recently. but yeah--ellen and NPH were the Billy Crystal/Woopie Goldberg type of non-offensive wholsomeness that the Academy prefers

There must be a bit of a delay going on where I'm at, you actually posted that before I saw Chris say it.

Documentaries are always one of those odd categories I suppose.

I'd still recommend watching Amy if you haven't.
