I wouldn't say that's bad as that given 100 chances I probably couldn't have named their former backup qb.

Hopefully the 49ers get a new Gm by the time the future son is old enough to realize who is winning and why his father is always so sad and depressed on Sundays (and certain mondays and thursdays).

Interesting, and even more so since Direct-tv and the NFL just re-uppe'd the deal again last year.

I like their new uni's. The brown in the jersey is a darker shade. Still clearly brown unless you are blind, or just stupid.

Da hell? This looks like ass.

The "leaked" images from a couple months ago look 10000x better, so of course the Browns picked the ones they did.

the yahoo article I saw didn't have the one that kinda looks brown and brown. The others have so much red around them they look more red than brown, and a couple look like alternative jerseys for the chiefs.

It's orange, not red. I think the camera shots online aren't really doing the colors justice. From what I've heard from people that saw them at the unveiling the orange is actually quite bright.

That "leaked" uni looks virtually identical to the brown uniform they've used since forever. At least the real ones look different. Can't please everybody.

Cause the old ones were classic and no need to change other than for some crappy marketing scheme to try and sell different product for an underachieving business.

Who are they marketing to with the incredibly ugly choice to have the team name down the side of the pants? What next, will they have the word "Juicy" embroidered on the butt?

I'm not a fan of the Browns embroidering on the pants either. Everything else looks great.

The Browns haven't been good in 25 years. They haven't been really good in 50. They've lost an entire generation of fan base that couldn't care less about the uniforms. It was time for a change.

So .. any news on the Chargers possibly trading Rivers for #2 overall? I hear Rivers wants out California cause of taxes. Can't blame the guy with his 8-15 kids.

I really don't want to give up the #2 pick for Rivers. That seems like a short term fix of a single position on a team that needs a whole lot more than one position repaired. I'd give a different answer if Rivers were in his late 20s.

The Titans need to either:

a) Draft one of Winston/Mariota
b) Draft Williams or one of the other DL/LB prospects
c) Trade down and get more picks

They were one of the top teams in the NFL in the late 80s, so I'd call that really good. But otherwise, you're right and I'd really like to see them return to prominence.

You are right they were competitive for a number of years in the 80's. But really good teams win titles. The Kosar era will forever be remembered for The Drive and The Fumble. Exactly what tradition are people holding on to? The championships they won 50 years ago?

The Browns got all their ducks in a row on the business side. They just (and most importantly) need to get it going on the field.

You forgot to add, eff John Elway.

Never got to a single Super Bowl. They had a stretch of 4 decent years where they lost 3 AFC title games to the Broncos and that was it. I'd call that meh. To be one of "the top teams in the NFL" and to have "prominence" you have to win something besides finishing first in a 4 team division.

Bengals went to the SB but I'd say Browns felt like a better team, just had those moments of bad luck.

Where are you getting they look like Chiefs uniforms? Because of the 3 stripes on the shoulder pads? That's about the only real similarities. They're very different. Colors aren't even close (are you color blind?).

Hmm, seeing pics on some sites (including the team's website) and the orange does look red (looks about the red that the Bucs used), but on Yahoo at the "reveal" they're definitely orange.

Overall not a big fan of them, but they seem mostly changing just to change. Not better or worse (I think I prefer the older ones but meh).

There was was outfit of mostly white top with that looked almost solid red bottoms and that would be the most extreme example.

Living across the pond from Cleveland we got to listen to classics like this on the radio during the Bernie Kosar era...

I completely disagree. 3 AFC title games in 4 years makes them one of the top teams over those years.

Really would like to see them on the field now, have absolutely no idea how they will actually look like. On PTI they showed a clip while trashing them and they were near solid red. Then saw another online and they looked like the broncos orange.
