So they arent negotiating and taking a hardline stance of him playing his contract at 9 million next year?

So hes holding out then..

They won't release what they are talking, just that they immediately reached out to him once he was back on the commissioner's exemption list. They made sure to say they want him to remain in a Viking uniform and that he was under contract with them.

interesting. I think the 9 million is more than he would get anywhere really. The Cap is bigger than expected.

NE Franchises a kicker over top 3 safety in the leauge?

They made an unemotional decision and it takes guts and winning the SB to do that.

Sources say Michael Sam has been invited (and will be attending) the vet combine. Please alert Retro Rob, as I don't think he's posted about Sam being gay in awhile.

Woah. Shady traded to the Bills for Kiko Alonso.

Didnt see that coming. Man Andy Reid is exerting his control. He got rid of the CB that said practice is too hard and the RB that gave up on him in his eyes.

Eagles gonna draft somebody now.

Rosenhous putting brakes on deal

Trent Cole getting cut.

Seems like teams are shedding mid levels players like I have never seen this year. At least a dozen starters so far with tread left on the tires. Cole is still a good player

Who knew that Reid could call the shots for the Eagles while he's coaching the Chiefs? :awe:

Worst.

Trade.

Evar.

(For Buffalo)

Why the hell would they trade basically DROY and one of the best LB studs (even if he was hurt last season) for a commodity they can pick up anywhere? Yeah, their D played damn fine without Kiko last season, but Shady worth a young buck like Kiko?

hey now. Let's give it another season or two before we start comparing this to the Portis for C Bailey trade.

To be fair the Bills are changing their scheme and one of their linebackers would have become a backup. They played really well without him last year and he got injured early enough hes completely healed now and has real value.

I dont like the trade because I though Kiko was better than brown or w/e his name and was better in covereage but whats his name seemed great in the run game.

I can see Chip getting rid of lesean after cutting back on his touches last year.

Chip is a cult of personality guy. If you dont play his game you are gone ask the CB.

Honest analysis: They dropped a really good LB that was less than $2.5m in salary over the next two years for a RB due $27m+ over the next two years and a $10m cap hit and have yet to sign Hughes and still have a couple other long term extensions to work on. Brandon Spikes will cost more than Kiko and is a run stuffing specialist, and I doubt Preston Brown or Nigel Bradham are remotely as good in coverage as Kiko is.

Cause jackson has been getting hurting and spiller is a FA and bills plan on running 2 of every three downs.

Totally agree with you on Kiko being better in coverage and I think I said that as well.

I completley agree with you and I wouldn't have made the trade but to be fair they have too many starting LBs and someone would have been the odd man out. I think Kiko had the better trade market and thats why he was the odd man out. He had more value and Rex thinks he can get away with brown. Kikos coverage skills is what made the trade. Philly had issues in coverage all year that side of the field.

Spikes is a descending player and they got much better in this trade in coverage.

In five years I think we will all say that the trade benefited the eagles but if the Bills get some corners they could challenge deep in the playoffs.

Kinda wish the bears traded forte for Kiko

RB is a commodity position these days. Plus with the O-line that Buffalo has right now, that cap money is desperately needed elsewhere. The O-Line issues and cap hit devalue the trade more than anyone realizes.

Buffalo has many needs but it will immedeiately restructure and add incentives to the Shady contract lessing the hit this year and passing the buck.

great artcle about Suh and the tax repercussion to him signing in any state other than FLA.

Hell Indiana with its 3.3 makes it more palpable.

Kiko for Foles would have been a decent trade for BUF. As it stands now they simply overpaid. There's plenty of decent RBs in both free agency and the draft coming available they could have had for "free" without surrendering a good player.

That being said, it could have been worse - they could have traded for either Cutler or Bradford and their huge bloated contracts instead of Shady.

Only if they traded a conditional bag of dicks for him. That's another waste of almost $5m of cap space and a lost multiple draft picks*.

Well I'm a Vikes fan, so awesome from my perspective. :awe:
