The front looks good but what would you like the back to look like.

I'm not a car designer, so it's very difficult to set out a concrete meaning of what 'good' would be.

However, consider this concept back end:

That's a nice ass.

Or this one:

Or:

Each one of those is substantially different from eachother, but they ALL have the proportion and definition in the rear end that screams 'DESIGN' rather than 'meh, whatever'.

The first one looks horrible. the third one looks exactly like an Aston Martin on the rear end too. The second one looks like macho matchbox toy dubs 2002 yo.

hood plus the bit of front slope right above the grille is very 3 series. i'm guessing european pedestrian safety regs are responsible for that

Man, I don't know what's up with these manufacturers. It's like they don't want to take a chance on an original design. This Mustang looks horrible. My favorite recent Mustang design is the 2011 & 2012 models. Didn't like what they did with the 2013 & 2014 V6 and GT's. And this one is absolutely horrible. It's like they pussified the Mustang.

Its all good. They all look like mustangs. Even on the first page.

looks great, honestly, neat mix of modern and retro. Also they got serious with powertrain too, each of 3 options (2.3T I4, 3.7 V6 and 5.0 V8) will find its buyer.

That looks hot. It does look a bit awkward in some photos, but people saying its horrible are insane. Especially the people who say they love the most recent model. Its like a leaner, lither, sportier version of that. I like the current one too, but I like this one just as much. Neither one is perfect though, but I'd wait to see what all different versions they offer. The recent Mustangs had quite a variety of looks with the different hoods, grills and fascias they had.

I also feel like the hood would look better with some better designed vents (think GT500 hood) instead of "power dome" like it has right now.

Wow the new Mustang will move forward into the 20th century with a rear independent suspension. No more horse buggy suspension!

I just think they went a little overboard with the fusion-treatment on the front and the back taillights are a little too simple (like the 2005 mustang) and skewed in for my liking

It will be interesting to see how well the IRS plays out, and how much lighter if at all it would be. I'm guessing it's going to be like the Stingray Corvette where they did all this lightening and used all these new materials but really it just didn't get any heavier in terms of overall weight.

I wonder if they'll bring back the SVO moniker for the 2.3t version. That's pretty interesting to me, but I'd be surprised if it actually makes more power and get's better fuel economy than the V6. I mean the V6 runs on regular and makes 300 hp and gets ~31 highway right? The Focus ST doesn't make that much power and also gets around the same highway mileage, and that's using the 2.0. If anything it's probably going to be ~1 MPG better in typical usage just like the Ecoboost V6 vs the V8 in the F150s, and maybe with the same or slightly less power.

any word on weights/dimensions? i saw your post on dailytech about it a few months ago and wasn't sure about the 6.5" narrower spec. that would make it narrower than an FRS

Looks like those reports were wrong. We're now hearing anywhere from 200 pounds lighter to 100 pounds heavier.

Wheelbase is the same, length is the same. It's 1.7" shorter (height wise) and the rear track is 3" wider.

The more I look at it, the more it's growing on me. Still don't like the headlights, though.

And it's definitely not as sexy and manly as the 2013.

Looks like the vehicles in the Cars kid movie. Bugs eye without the VW style headlamp.
