Damn that sounds awesome! Without knowing what the price will be but I am assuming <60k, this must be the cheapest 200mph car on the market?

And no gas guzzler tax, incredible for that level of power.

It's become a very interesting and exciting time in the last few years for fuel efficiency and power output from around the entire industry.

Code:
2012 Merc C250 201hp 21/31|2002 Merc C230 192hp 19/26
2012 Subie Impreza 2.0 CVT 150hp 27/36|2002 Subie Impreza 2.5 Auto 165hp 19/35
2012 Hyundai Elantra Auto 138hp 29/40| 2002 Hyundai Elantra Auto 141hp 21/30
2012 Ford Mustang GT Manual 412hp 18/25| 2002 Ford Mustang GT Manual 260hp 16/22
2012 Lambo Aventador 691hp 11|17| 2002 Lambo Murcielago 572hp 8|12

We're seeing massive fuel economy improvements industry wide while maintaining or in the case of cars like the the Mustang, doubling HP, all of which are quite incredible from a physics and engineering point of view.

Are these bigger engines related to the 5.0 coyote?

The 5.8 Will be built at the Romeo engine plant where the current 5.4 is built so I think it will just be an enlarged 5.4, which is a Ford Modular 4 valve whose design history originates with the 1999 Lincoln Navigator and 2000 Mustang SVT Cobra R.

The 5.0 Coyote is actually technically a derivitive of the Ford Modular engine (Everything from the old 4.6, the 5.4 Triton/Intech/SVT, 5.4 Aussie motor, 5.0/53 Cammer race engine to the new 5.0 and even the 6.8L V10 in HD E/F series trucks). They both trace back to the same parent, but diverged quite a few years ago and are 2 sister engines in the same family.

Holy sh!t! Ford just dropped a bomb on Chevy's ZL1!

I love this shot:

Vicious!

It looks like it is going to reach out and stomp your face in.

2013 GT changes
Brembo brakes (only available on cars with the 3.73 axle and a manual transmission)
used to be available with the 3.55, which a lot of people picked

That is a great looking car...from the outside. I assume it will have an interior that is pretty much the same as a $20K v6 Mustang, and even that isn't good for its class.

The interior on the GT Premium is not bad at all. Now if you want crappy interior, take a look at the Camaro.

I drove a 2012 GT Premium for a day last month (traded with my brother for a day), the interior isn't bad at all. I'm not a huge fan of the coloring, but that's more of a taste thing.

I don't know how you have time to nit pick interior when trying to keep the rear wheels straight.

On a related note..

No complaints about no IRS yet? I'm beyond shocked.

I have a 2012 Shelby GT500. The interior is actually surprisingly good.

Heh.. I may have to trade my car in when this comes out due to horsepower envy :) (Either that, or have the Ford Racing 750hp 50-state legal supercharger upgrade installed.)

Well it's now the only supercar with a solid axle isn't it? Someone needs to send everybody else a memo on how they can save $100 and have just as good performance, even on bumpy roads, right? Ford needs to get the memo too, since the next general Mustang will be IRS

It's not a "super car". Maybe that knowledge alone will resolve most peoples problems and expectations.
