I don't know how you have time to nit pick interior when trying to keep the rear wheels straight.

On a related note..

No complaints about no IRS yet? I'm beyond shocked.

i think that recent test where the mustang gt was just as quick (quicker?) around a track than an m3 shut a lot of those people up :awe:

What's the difference between this and a 550hp Viper that makes the Mustang not a supercar?

i would imagine the viper is lighter, may have better weight distribution, and a lower center of gravity?

but i've always thought of the viper as more an insane GT.

somehow FR always means GT to me.

supercar = mid engined

Viper is a sports / muscle car.

Corvette is a sports car.

Mustang is a pony car.

GT500/Cobra is a muscle car.

McLaren F1 is a super car.

Ford GT is a super car.

Veyron is a super car.

Just because the others can hang with or destroy a super car doesn't make them a super car nor does it mean they should be compared as such. Cars like the GT500 are hopped up versions of a mass production consumer street car, not a money no object built by hand from the ground up research project.

"The only super car without an IRS" still laughing about that.

If you really need to know the diff, just look at the GT500 or Boss compared to the Ford GT. The Ford GT construction is like an alien UFO next to the GT500. Totally different ideology in car building.

While there will be excitement for this GT500, what makes you think this? 2012 GT500's can be had to this day on dealer lots. I don't think an improvement like this will cause them to be unavailable. Maybe I'm wrong, hope I'm not.

That being said, what do I have to do to make sure I can order one?! :p I ordered a 2010 GT but that's a different story, and I doubt it'd be that easy again.

Viper isn't really a supercar, but to answer the question, price and origins. Supercars aren't souped of versions of $20k cars and they don't sell for under $100k.

Yup. What he's thinking of are the 2007 GT500s everybody wanted so bad when the "new Shelby" first came out and they were hoarding them and marking them up to $60k+ and all the Barret Jackson type buyers scrambling to be the fist 100 or whatever.

The "zomg new Shelby" thing has worn off. 2012's were available right away at MSRP and I don't see the 2013 being any different.

I feel bad for people who bought:

'99/01 Cobra, '10 GT, and '07 and '12 GT500...

Well scratch the '07 GT500, I don't feel bad about those.

God it must suck to have just bought a '10 Mustang GT 2 months before the '11 5.0 launch... or even the 2011 V6.

I ordered my 2010 GT in Dec of 08 and got it early 2009 ( I think that's right) so it was a a full year before the 5.0, but does doesn't mean I haven't been bitter since. Part of the reason I want to upgrade!

Yes, I'm referring to the 07 GT500 launch, this may not be AS bad. However, if you think you want one of the first off the line? I guarantee you'll pay 10K over MSRP unless you have inside connections at Ford.

I don't have to be first. I've never cared about getting something first. I actually prefer the vantage point and prior knowledge of being last so I can get the best after everyone else is fully committed and past their return period :awe:

If everyone else gets a 2013 first and I don't, I'll just be the only one with a 2014 when all is said and done.

Not like I'm really hurting for a 600+ HP car right this absolute second and cannot wait.

I don't think you've ever mentioned it, but what mods and how much hp/tq does your terminator put out?

Maybe they will put a noise generator on it to make it sound like an inline 3? :)

Thats a joke - noise generators seem to be all the rage these days.

Well 100lbs lighter definately helps. If they could shave another 100 or so off, it would take an even greater leap.

I do think its the best looking sports car. :)
