Maybe I'm missing something here but how the fuck am I supposed to quit out of Burnout Paradise?

That explains the "Logged Out" achievment.

From google I found a post:

I can't exit the game. Looked everywhere! I always Ctrl + Alt + Del and end task. That sux!!!!

Press Esc then press F1 3 times to get to a menu. There will be menu options. Save and quit etc.

So how is JA? I'm not sold by the 62 metacritic reviews.

I like the artistic aspect of Bioshock, but wasn't crazy about the little gameplay that I did.

But it's a very well reviewed game, with a 96(!) metacritic, the highest of any game in the sale I think.

A very good deal on sale.

Bioshock 2 wasn't as well reviewed (88), but still very good.

i like it. it's pretty fun and challenging. it's been patched a lot since release too.

Trine 2
Sid Meier's Civilization III: Complete
FarCry 2
Crysis 2 Maximum Edition
Sniper Elite V2+Rifle Pack and Hitler Mission
Bastion
Space Pirates and Zombies(SPAZ)
------------------------------------------
$44.67

Bought Sniper Elite V2 from Amazon for $15, but it would never have been that low if Steam hadn't of had it on sale for $25.

I never played beyond Jagged Alliance: BIA's demo, but I have to agree with Pontifex here.

From what I've seen, most of JA's "reviews" are people just whining about how it's not the same as the originals. It's actually a pretty legit tactical-strategy game. It's real-time, but with "pause-go-pause-go" type of playback. If that kind of thing sounds interesting to you, I say go for it.

Ya, after the positive comments, I picked it up (with Prima guide for $12.49), and two DLC.

Didn't get the gear DLC.

Partly not crazy about developers doing DLC like that, partly not clear it's worth it.

Question about Dawn of War, I was glazing over the forums and somebody said Retribution includes the full multiplayer experience? So if I don't care at all about the single player campaign, I could just pick up Retribution for $7.5 and skip the original + Chaos Rising?

Is it the same for the original Dawn of War? Could I just buy Soulstorm and basically have complete MP while skipping the Gold/Platinum editions? I never touched the single player campaign in Starcraft either, so I'm intrigued by this.

Also it looks like most, if not all, of the Retribution DLC is basically, reskins? And what's the Last Standalone? The description says it's a stand alone of a popular MP survival mode, meaning if you already had a DoWII game it'd be pointless to own? Why is it included in the THQ collection then if you already get DoWII games with that? I've always been confused by the DoW series, so many damn releases.

Concerning Dawn of War 1:
If you just buy soul storm you will only have two races to play, the chicks and evil eldar.
You do need the platinum edition if you want to play with all races. Think of it as stand alone expansions that can work together. I have no idea why they did it that way.

um, to get people to buy more

Well I had the original DoW + Winter Assault a long time ago but I think I Ebay'd them. I pretty much used to just do 2vs2 matches with a friend against AI, we mostly just play co-op games together.

So it kind of sounds like I could just get the Last Standalone for $2.50 as that's probably the mode we'd spend the most time playing anyways. I just read something on Wiki that said there was a discount for people upgrading to Retribution from the Last Standalone, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of that on the store pages. If that's still the case I'd definitely just start with the Last Standalone and upgrade during a later sale if I wanted more.

Does the Last Standalone still give me access to all races/heroes (aside from the Tau Commander DLC) compared to if I had Retribution and played the Last Stand mode? And then the Race Packs DLC include "unique abilities" and "wargear" for squad units (Retribution campaign only?)? While the War Gear DLC includes equippable items for the heroes? So I'm guessing basically you pick a hero/race and your hero can be equipped with wargear to augment him. Is there standard wargear that comes with the game, or is the DLC the only wargear available, kind of like pay-to-win? Can they be equipped with more than one piece of wargear or do you choose one that suits your playstyle? Wish there was a way to trial DLC or something so I could actually play the game and find out what the hell this stuff is all about instead of buying a bunch of DLC I might not like and never end up using.

And as far as the original DoW goes, Soulstorm includes 2 stand alone races, and I'm guessing all the maps and multiplayer modes? How many races do you get with the original DoW, how many are added with Winter Assault, and is Dark Crusade stand alone as well? Does it add 2 races like Soulstorm but still include all maps/multiplayer modes?

Ummm, no.
Expansions that REQUIRE the original get people to buy more stuff.

Seriously. Which W40k fan wants to play with JUST the Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar, when if you buy the base games you get the Space Marines, Chaos, Eldar and Orks, and with Winter Assault and Dark Crusade, you get the Imperial Guard, Tau, and Necrons. Even die-hard fans of the first two races probably won't want to play 1v1 against AI as Sisters vs Dark Eldar, it's stupid. So in a way, it still requires the original game (or at the very least Dark Crusade).

There are still new flash and community deals.

So we'll see some repeat deals.
In concur. There's a vote going on for another community deal that would go live at 12:01am on the 23rd, so something is probably happening on Monday.

Why does it matter? Soulstorm sucks ass. Buggy and a complete waste of money and HDD space.

I never encountered any bugs.
I will say the low-end AI is much weaker than the low-end AI in the original game. (Dark elder and Tau just stand around doing nothing).
BUT, the higher AI's are actually a little better than in the original game.

Wait, the DoW 2 campaigns are playable co-op? Everything from vanilla, Chaos Rising, and Retribution can all be played with a partner?

Do I need any more DoW stuff while it's on sale?

I have barely touched it yet and not the familiar with what to get. I'm probably only interested in single player.

From what I've read I'm pretty just missing some 'unit packs' that are not too needed, except for people who like them. Here's what I have already:

Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn of War® - Gold Edition
Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn of War® - Dark Crusade
Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn Of War® – Winter Assault
Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn of War® - Soulstorm
Warhammer® 40,000™: Dawn of War® II
Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn of War® II Chaos Rising
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution Chaos Space Marines Race Pack
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution Eldar Race Pack
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution Imperial Guard Race Pack
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution Space Marines Race Pack
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution Ork Race Pack
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution Tyranid Race Pack
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution
Dawn of War II: Retribution – The Last Standalone

I wouldn't have minded if it had been more clear and announce from the beginning; the vote each time one though was absurd.
