Nice topic, If this thread strays I'll hand out more infractions and vacations.
Just a warning.

Not so sure it is better than an M3 - it's more of a grand tourer, rather than a track ready coupe.

I'm jumping in before it closes - weeee!

Thread crapping will not be tolerated. If you have nothing valuable to add, stay out of the thread. This is your ONE warning.

Peak torque at 1500rpm? 😱

I was amazed by your comment so i checked the link. I read

autoblog said:
the latter of which peaks between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm

To me, that suggests that the peak is somewhere in the middle around 3,600 rpm which is more reasonable. 1,500 would have been nutty.

edit: actually, looks like that's what they're claiming.... Hmm.

This is meant to be a grand touring type car, and it's perfect for it. I've grown to like the current BMW look, and the interior is great

Damn that is one sexy looking car inside and out. Even the convertible looks good with the top down, and I think most convertibles look whack.

I saw the pictures last night on facebook, the back is a bit intriguing. It kind of reminds me of the new NSX.

Either way, the car stunning. However (and this is the one thing that scares me), a regular 6 series starts at 90K~. So are we looking at a sub 150K M6?

I like the way this one looks a lot more than the E63 generation. May need to switch the deposit on the F11 M5 to this.

i like the look way more than the old one

Yeah, but the old one was pretty bleh.

I guess I'm one of the few that finds this ugly. Its not hideous, but its still not very good looking. Way too much "detail" work in the sheetmetal. The front is pretty ugly. I've not been fond of most BMW front fascias for a while and this is no different. Hate the fender "vent" and overdone crease.

I do like the rear profile and side profile. The side actually makes me think of the 7 series, which I really wish they'd have aimed for that more.
