I loved the Chloe-Van Der Beek dynamic. Not so much the June-Mark dynamic.
Krysten Ritter is a comic talent. Dreama Walker isn't. Bad casting imo.

Boy do I love her. Shame about the show.

Do no harm axed after 2 shows

Up all night can be considered defacto cancelled as applegate has quite the series.

good bye g4tv, hello esquire tv

Beginning April 22, the G4 network will be rebranded the Esquire Network in a partnership between NBCUniversal and Hearst Magazines to create a television network for upscale males. Owned and operated by NBCU, Esquire Network will be helmed by G4 General Manager Adam Stotsky, who will work closely with David Granger, Editor in Chief of Esquire magazine, to develop the brand. G4′s flagship competition series American Ninja Warrior will return for its fifth season, to air this summer on Esquire Network and NBC. Additionally, Esquire Network will air an array of off-network scripted series, including NBC’s Parks And Recreation and Starz’s Party Down, both starring Adam Scott.

Esquire Network plans to expand on G4’s foundation of games, gear and gadgets. Program categories and genres will feature not only gaming and technology but also entertainment, food, fashion, women, humor, travel, competition, danger and more. Esquire’s unscripted projects in development include Knife Fight, executive produced by Drew Barrymore, Flower Films and Authentic Entertainment. Hosted by Top Chef winner Ilan Hall, Knife Fight is an underground, after-hours cooking competition where talented chefs go head to head in front of a rowdy crowd of celebrities, critics and die-hard foodies. Another original series, The Getaway (working title), is executive produced by Anthony Bourdain and Zero Point Zero and features travel-loving, well-known personalities — people deservedly famous for excellence in their fields — who take viewers to their favorite city on the planet, giving the insiders’ track on their top spots to eat, drink, shop and hang out. “There is a vastly under-served audience in cable TV — today’s modern man — and by joining forces with Esquire, we will deliver a multi-platform experience to this upscale, engaged, passionate audience, one that widens the aperture beyond G4’s technology and gaming base,” Stotsky said. “Esquire magazine brings 80 years of unparalleled insight into what makes men tick, and we will incorporate the best of this iconic brand to produce original shows that build the network for growth and success.

Wasnt Party Down cancelled a couple of years ago?

It was. And Parks and Rec is on NBC, so that part of the story is very confusing. How is it on NBC while being "off-network"?

I've heard rumors about an attempt to do a movie of Party Down. They can't revive the series, at least not without extensive recasting. Jane Lynch is on Glee and Adam Scott is on Parks & Rec

Can we start the death watch for Community?

12 episodes to go before cancelation!
Supposedly its ratings were pretty good last week, so I actually wouldn't be surprised if NBC keeps it. They don't have a lot of stuff going for them right now considering 30 Rock and the Office are gone (or almost gone). 1600 Penn seems to be not doing great either. The drama with the show should be a lot less after they fired their show runner. The show may lose it's "edge" as a result, but I think it has a better chance of being renewed now.

Of course the ratings for a premier will be good. The show has definitely lost it's edge. Last Thursday's show was a show pretending to be Community.

It is NBC, though. A 1.6-1.8 for most of the season is considered a win. I'm thinking worst case scenario now is that they might order another half season to fill a gap for a show that doesn't work.

I can't imagine they'll be picking up Community for anything more. It's basically been on death watch for 3 years now. My wife and I pretty much quit watching during the middle of last season.

Besides, NBC and myself are no longer friends. Not since they cancelled Chuck...

Definitely that. A real shame, because there were a few glimpses of Community, but it just felt like they were trying to cram every little odd thing about the show that people had like along the way all into one episode.

A real shame. 🙁

They seem to be trying to move away from all of the handheld shows these days and going back to traditional sitcom formats, so I can't imagine any of those shows will last for long.

No big loss there. I just started watching season 1 and it's already sputtering out about halfway through. My wife and I are new parents and at first it was really entertaining and reminded us a lot of our own situation. But by the latter half of the first season, the baby almost never appears and is hardly even mentioned. I'm sure there have been a couple episodes without a single baby appearance.

I don't know if it improved at all by season 2 but I probably won't find out.

As soon as Community, Parks & Recreations, and The Office is gone I'll feel safe to watch NBC comedies again. Their only good sitcoms (some VERY good) had laugh tracks and I think it's time to go back to that kind of format even though most people unjustly hate them. Enough with the active camera shit too, I don't need an extreme close-up of someones face in every situation. 'Guys With Kids' sucks but that's the kind of show they need to start making more of in terms of filming and format. Also, not every girl NEEDS to be smoking hot, feel free to throw in a clunker once in a while to make things seem a tad more realistic.

Go On needs to Go On too. I wish Mr. Sunshine did better, I actually liked Perry in that.

My wife and I only started watching the show via Amazon instant sale a few months back and enjoy it. The premier wasn't as good as the past ones though, so if they continue this path I'll prob lose interest. Of course it would fair better for the show as it's more "accessible" than before (personally I think you need to understand the characters in order to make EPs like the X-mas claymation work.)

Chuck on the other hand was a mercy killing. A show that started great but ended with a mess. It was like they didn't know what to do with themselves after they killed the original formula.

I think they may be desperate enough after this season to try to keep it around. Without it, they really would only have Parks and Rec for Thurs night because 1600 Penn is close to getting the axe at this point.

Community has been pretending to be Community for more than a full season now. There are still gems of moments and a few strong episodes, but on the whole it's been weak for quite a while. They've stopped trying to invent new ways to work the silly flights of fancy into episodes in a plausible way, all they do now is throw weirdness against the wall in the hopes something sticks.
