Nope, my only warhammer knowledge is from reading a few random articles off the WH wiki like Emperor of Mankind...that's why it would be cool to see more :)

If you dig the WH40K universe I highly recommend checking out some of the books. The one that I found works pretty well for new people and introducing them to a lot of WH40K info is the Eisenhorn omnibus by Dan Abnett. Think of it as intergalactic investigator/hunter of daemons :D

sanctum looks like an interesting buy today

It is a lot of fun. I picked it up in a group buy when it first was a daily deal and sunk a good amount of hours into it already. If you like tower defense you'll probably like it, as it adds another layer on top of the traditional TD gameplay. Think of your character has a mobile tower that can be upgraded as well and has 3 different weapons to use.

I already have vanilla Borderlands from D2D. Would it be worth it to get the GOTY from Steam for the expansions?

I need another ticket to redeem some shit I won't use...was hoping there would be one of those "scratch your ass" like activities today...

In total, I got 9 tickets from doing only the "scratch your ass" activities. I was too lazy to get any of the real achievements.

In the end, I got the free game (Alien Breed 2), the TF2 shades, and the DLC for X3: Terran Conflict. I'm satisfied.

Well, gonna pick up AC II and Bad company 2. Don't really feel like getting into the multiplayer this late in the game, so not going to bother with the Pack unless vietnam has single player.

Yeah - considering the GOTY and DLC pack are the same price.

3 DLC's are fun to run around solo while the 1 DLC is mainly arena style based team maps [which can be solo'd if you manage to get the luck of the draw].

What do you mean, "late in the game"? People will be playing Battlefield:BC2 for years to come, you are not at a disadvantage by starting right now, and you are most definitely NOT late in the game. If you're buying it only for the singleplayer, I'm sorry, but you're missing out on one of the best online war experiences there is right now. Bad Company 2 multiplayer on PC is something that every gamer needs to experience. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You will NOT be disappointed.

Hmmm, ok. I read some other thread where someone bought it a few months ago and keep getting his ass handed to him because he was so new and most everyone had been playing for over a year already. Just didn't want to buy the other multiplayer stuff and then get pissed off cause it was no fun.

It probably depends on what server you play on. Try to find one that is more casual/newbie friendly, and go from there. If it's too hard, or it's not balanced, then go somewhere else. There are tons of servers up so you have a lot of choices.

Also, it's not spawn, die; spawn, die; spawn, die; like some other games (Call of Duty). Bad Company 2 is more slower paced and strategic so you won't get frustrated as fast.

The DLC for Borderlands is absolutely essential. Probably the best DLC out there for any game. Knoxx, Claptrap, and Zombie Island are like their own mini games with tons of content.

I got the complete pack 4 or 5 days ago and yeah, my first few games were frustrating because I didn't know what to do or where to go and I was basically cannon fodder. But I've learned a fair bit about the mechanics so I don't get killed as often now and I sort of know what to do. I'm still a bad player but I'm enjoying it a lot, I highly recommend it. Both vanilla and Vietnam are loads of fun.

And don't forget to spot enemies.

Whoa...

though knowing me, fiddling around like that would break my game. I do have Willowtree, though, and have installed some of the mods--transport for the DLC is about it...
Just backup the config files and restore them if you mess up ;)

I'm going to have a goddamn coronary.

Fallout 3 GOTY isnt supported on Win 7, and in fact generally seems to not work.

Of course not only does it not work for me but none of the work arounds work either.

Worked fine for me when I had it installed before. Though I reinstalled it on my SSD and now it's flaky. Haven't cared enough to try and fix it on this current system.

Have you tried running it in Vista compatibility mode? Might try the unofficial patch too.

I don't have the GOTY edition, but have played FO3 with all DLC on Win7 64 just fine.

Go to MS website and get the latest version of GFWL, install it. I suspect that will fix your situation.

One game I really want to get but at the same time don't, is DCS A-10c Warthog. The price is fair for it with the sale currently ($40) but I would need to a new flight stick (I think I have an old MS Sidewinder Pro in the closet is all lol). So having to buy a new stick for it and the game which looks to be around $80 for the Saitek something or another grrr

yeah, it's more like spawn, run 3 feet, die to sniper fire, spawn, spend 10 minutes running to the action, die, repeat.
