ARES looks cool. I'd go for it if it had more of a discount.

When I was playing it, I kept wishing that it was more like Mega Man. :\ I also had some odd trouble doing slides at times... I kept wanting to use them on bosses, but it was nearly futile as I just couldn't get them to go off. Maybe it'd be easier if I used the d-pad vs the left joystick.

It's pretty fun, if you're into the whole city building thing.

It's not extremely difficult.

This is my complaint about the game. Eventually, you just hit a plateau and it did not take long for me to get there. I never had to be oppressive to easily win the scenarios. I never really had to be militaristic because my people were more than content than to create rebels. Once I started up a good industry from top to bottom it was pretty smooth sailing.

How does defense grid compare with Sanctum? Was thinking I'd wait and see if Sanctum came up on a mega cheap daily deal as far as Tower Defense games go.

Well Magicka has ended up being a big fucking waste of money. That game sucks much ass. Love the idea but it doesnt respond to all the buttom coombos correctly which makes it very difficult.

ETA:

Went online to see if it was a bug or anything and theres people nailing out huge combos fast. Either my sausage fingers cant keep up or I need a new keyboard.

So:
However, we can stop the group buy since there is was too much leeway there for a troll to swoop in and collect 100 payments on a 4 pack and disappear.
I'd rather see that as a "proceed at your own risk, we can not offer any protection on money you transfer" type of thing. Combined with common sense, name recognition, and/or heatware rating, I think a lot of the risk can be eliminated.

I'd rather do group buys with people from AT, but at least there are some places like CAG I can go to if I really want.

You would think Steam would provide a mechanism for people to sign up with friends to buy a multi-copy pack and the purchase goes through when 4 are committed at which point everyone only pays their discounted share of the total cost.

no worries. people seem to take care of these things themselves.

no one would begrudge you a day of drinking, eating meat, and blowing shit up.

Got a small update for Trine. I'm willing to bet there's going to be a deal and a summer camp activity for it today.

Alpha Protocol looks interesting, but I have so many other games in my queue I know it will land at the bottom of the pile anyway. New Vegas is really tempting, but I will wait for the version with all the DLC's included. I believe there are still 2 more DLC's yet to be released.

it' always the same stuff every sale. eventually people won't be buying anything because they have it already.

like me - i already either have the games or have no interest in them or they aren't cheap enough.

Exactly this. The same games come on sale all the time. I already own almost everything I want, and thanks to the insane prices I have a huge backlog of games to play. I have started being very selective about what I buy. That said I did end up picking up Assassins Creed 2 for $6. I had borrowed it from a friend for PS3, but then my console exploded before I had a chance to play.

How's Singularity?

It's decent. Worth what they're asking for sure. It did have some major texture pop in issues, but that may have been resolved with a patch. You will probably get 6-8 hours out of the campaign, or maybe 10-12 if you spend more time picking up the logs and such for tid-bits of the story.
