DA 2 worth it for $36? I liked the first one but all the negative press on the second has made me wary.

Tropico 3 now, I just might have to pick that up just for the fun of it.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is the only thing interesting to me today, but not sure I should buy it now or wait until another sale.

I never finished AC1 because it got repetitive. Got AC2 on PS3 and it was pretty fun for awhile, but again, got repetitive and I haven't finished it.

It wouldn't be worth it if it were free. The graphics were horrible, the collision detection laughably bad. Just a horrible, horrible game, imo. HTF is got a 76 on metacritic, I have no idea.

I should add that this was playing it on a console. PC may be different.

Interesting. Are you sure you're not confusing Two Worlds 2 with Two Worlds 1? I heard the first one was pretty terrible, but they made the sequel leaps and bounds better. I've actually been watching some gameplay videos of it on Youtube and it doesn't look half bad. It's very beautiful and the combat looks pretty good.

The only bad thing I've heard about it is the storyline is kinda "meh" (standard fare generic fantasy story, which is a shame because I need good stories in my RPGs). I probably won't buy it for $17 but I'm still very intrigued.

Thanks for letting us know you played it on console though. That might make a difference. They probably developed it for PC first and then did a lazy job of porting it to console, without really fine-tooling it for console hardware.

I liked DA2 at 50(or was it $60? Either way). But you must bear in mind two things:
1. the combat is noobified from DA Origins. That doesn't bother me too much although I did like to use cone of cold to freeze and destroy enemies.
2. There are noticeably less situations where you can decide to kill instead of help. For example, you'd sometimes run into bandits who surrender, then you get to decide whether to kill them or let them go. Or you'd have the option to simply slaughter the good guys sometimes in DA: O. Lot less of this in DA 2, more often than not it's predetermined whether you have to kill.

DA2 has a console feeling to it. A lot of the areas are re-used [ie: dungeons] and you'll be doing a lot of running around within the same area [1 town]. Honestly - I'd wait for DA2 to be down around the $20 range instead.

Oh yeah - reused dungeons, that too...

I just hope they return DA3 to the Warden storyline...

BAH!

I'm definately going to blow my bandwidth cap this month. Just got CoD 2 and both DLCs for ARMA2. Got Just Cause 2 on Friday, which I still haven't touched.

Funnies... The singleplayer portion of CoD2 is only 3-4 Gb, but the multiplayer is 7Gb? Don't like playing online deathmatch with kiddies, so going to ignore that.

Damn, just remembered that Fallout Vegas DLC should be out around the 20th.

In for Modern Warfare 2 (I know it'll never be cheaper than $20) and Torchlight today.

Torchlight is definitely worth $3, but make sure you mod the game. It's lasting appeal goes down when you realize that you'll never have enough money to enchant your own gear enough times and it's pretty much necessary to do so! I also like a fan made class over the ones that come with the game.

EDIT:

If you're thinking about picking up Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and don't own the other ones, it's actually cheaper to buy them all in a pack:

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8680/

Since the pack is 66% off all items inside and the daily deal for Brotherhood is only 50% off!

> Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition $10.20 66% off

Wow, that's even better than the Amazon deal. I don't think I can resist any longer.

> Torchlight $2.99 80% off
> Defense Grid $2.49 75% off

Aaaahhh!! Too many games! Curse you Steam bargains!

DA 2 is actually fun, but feels more like Mass effect than DA.

The map packs for Defense Grid are .24 cents each today which are normally .99. I'm picking up all of them today.

That sale has been going on since July 1st and the selection is pretty bad overall at least :D

Yeah, at this point the good stuff at Amazon is sold out, the only title that looked interesting to me was Singularity at $30 before BOGO, but I couldn't find anything else to pair it with.

So, I wonder what Steam will get me to buy tomorrow? (I bit on Dragon Age 1, Torchlight and Defense Grid today, $17.17 for all 3!)

Tropico for me. I've been wanting to play it, and flaked out on the last two deals for it.

Defense Grid is worth $15 or more, imo. awesome TD game.

what about Assassin's Creed II? I've been holding off to get it for PS3, b/c I want to play it on the big TV and with a game pad, but it's so cheap. Loved the first one, despite the grating repetitiveness, and Florence is one of my favorite places anywhere...so I've really wanted to play this game.

I have it for PS3 and it pretty fun but gets repetitive, just like the 1st one. I haven't finished it either. I'm guessing Brotherhood is more of the same.
