I already own BF2 retail. I want to get BF2 Vietnam. But I can't buy it from Steam if I own the game retail. It cost 8.99 on the EA site I think. The whole BF2 pack on Steam is only 9.99.

Or am I missing something here?

Are Bioshock 2 and Darksiders likely to sell for less than $5 in the future?

Doubt it. Even the original Bioshock has never gone below $4.99 as far as I can remember (on Steam at least).

Just a note... Darksiders absolutely NEEDS an Xbox 360 controller for the full experience. Otherwise, it's a decent port. Also it's very damn fun (think Zelda + God of War).

thinking about getting avp, are the map packs for it of any worth?

demo really is the best way to see if you'll like this game. some like it, some hate the mechanics.

you really do have to try it yourself to know.

I didn't realize there was a demo but at 3.39 its not that big a deal. Mechanics are definitely different, somewhat cool but can be really annoying.

Started playing by myself and it can be difficult, although I keep finding new combos and things that help as I play.

Earth armor was one that really helped me out.

In for AVP and Darksiders today. I've bought something every day so far.

A literal Xbox 360 control will work on PC? Or an Xbox 360 style controller designed for PC?

From what I remember, the multiplayer was pretty much dead from the get go with the game and than they released map packs to splinter the small community that did play. So I'd say no.

it really does take some getting used to. there is a very fine line between blowing up a mob and blowing up yourself, especially when things get chaotic.

I finally beat that G-damn snake at the end of level two a little while ago--after another pile of deaths--my strategy was sitting under his head and self-casting fire earth fire earth whatever so the boulder would hit him, of course, I wasn't always lined up, so I end up setting myself on fire.

in the next level, you ride on these airship things and fight off a few mobs in other airships. I have a staff that lets me teleport as its primary skill, and I accidentally teleported onto another airship b/c of frantic button mashing--just before the airship takes off. instant death. :(

I picked up the Persian God of War game, Garshasp. It was only $2.50 and it looked interesting enough when I first saw it.

I own Darksiders for the 360, but I find that I'm more willing to play games on my PC than my consoles... mostly because of all of the annoying 360 profile woes. I have the 360 Wireless Adapter for using wireless controllers anyway on a PC. :p

I also have BF2 retail, but I went ahead and bought the whole pack today for $9.99 from Steam. To answer your questions, it is indeed the whole pack for $9.99, which includes BF2, BF2 Vietnam, and the SPECACT Kit.

Fable 3 confuses me. Is it an RPG?

It is, but it's more of an Action RPG to me. You'll get lots of gameplay vids if you searched YouTube. I rented this game on the Xbox 360 when it came out and finished it within a few hours. It wasn't very memorable other than the fact I never want to play it again.

I see that HL episodes 1&2 are now currently $2 each.

are they worth it? It's been many years since I last played HL2. it's currently uninstalled from my steam, account actually. :hmm:

Have they ever been free? I currently have every game from Orange Box, except ep1&2, and all of them acquired for free! (HL2 way back when it was vaporware and offered for free with my brand new kick-ass 9600XT :)).

is it any good?

I really need to get my x360 controller working again. :(

some may remember my strange issues with it not working for Just Cause 2 (a largely documented issue, though my specific problem seems to be unique). I had installed motionincontrol or whatever, to try and emulate it (odd, i know) and that fucker broke everything. Now, even though I think I have cleaned all the files and registry of this garbage software, the controller is completely broken--locks up Batman AA and Darsksiders 1 minute inot the games with the controller connected, fixes as soon as unplugged (previously worked just fine).

hence I've only played Darksiders for ~2 hours, not really into it anyway.
