OBLAMA, you need to consolidate your posts.

You're flat out wrong, IMHO. The OS6 Browser is very, very good. In fact it will re-format text all day and night when zooming, something even Safari still won't do.

BB OS6 browser is decent, nothing more.

I think people are confusing the speed of the browsing experience, and the browser code itself. The browser code itself is actually slightly ahead of iOS and Android, based on the HTML5 feature set it supports. That leads me to believe that a ~1.2GHz processor would foster one of the best web browsing experiences on any mobile phone.

i dont care what bb marketing and their paid bb shills like DivideBYZero say about their new "improvements", if it cant load the pages i need to see as well as my iphone thats the only test i need to do. i wont ever be buying another bb and anyone who would given the alternatives is a fool

You can justify your purchasing decisions however you want. That doesn't mean you can speak to what is or is not a good purchasing decision for others with any authority, though.

Wow, lol, that Huffingtonpost.com page makes my T9600 dual core, 8Gb RAM laptop choke on first load. It has 220k of Java script alone. By any standards that page sucks, it's not just your phone.

Video has been made. Uploading.

lets not forget that one of the only things that is keeping rim in the game is the fact that they basically give their phones away, which apple/droid dont

DivideBYZero must be hard at work making his videos, hopefully hes using a 32 gb iphone 4 cuz hes gonna run out of memory taping his blackberry

Here's my 9700 loading Huffintonpost in 22 seconds on OS6:

And I use a Canon Legria 1080p Video Camera with a Class 10 SDHC card.

22 seconds is great compared to older BB phones, but it's not really impressive compared to other smartphones on the market.

37 seconds on my HTC Surround. I am having my friend test his iPhone 4, and will report back with the results in a minute.

25 seconds on iPhone 4.

DBZ, is there anyway to turn off the server side compression?

12 seconds on my HTC Incredible with Pandora running.

And that's for a single-core phone that's nearly a year old now.

I tried to use my cat to record the video, but the damn thing won't upload what he sees to you tube, I guess I need to get a better WiFi connection for him :)

11 seconds on my EVO...

Thanks for playing.

With a processor that is almost twice as fast, certainly should and I'm not surprised. Did the Javascript story scroller work on your 'droid though? I was careful to show it in the video working perfectly on the OS6 browser.

I'm showing how OS6 is very good at browsing vs OS5. My OS 5 device took over two minutes. I'm not doing this for racing other phones. It's easy to assume that a 1.2Ghz device, even if it ran the same browser, would outgun even your EVO.

The troll-like "thanks for playing" is really pretty childish though, especially at your age. :whiste:

Again, it's almost twice as fast, processor wise and the point of the video isn't to pitch this against other phones, it's OS5 vs OS6, but you knew that.

Edit: and this IS an 'older smartphone'. It was launched in 2009. It's not like it just got wheeled out.

DBZ, you're the one that posted a flipping video of your phone, and opened up the door to criticism, bragging about the speed.

Guess what, it's slow as hell.

You play this game of how great the BB's are, and don;t want to bench them against current phones, when you get trounced, you point to a device that's not even released yet.

WTF???

Face it, RIM has become a laggard, resting on it's laurels of past glory days when the only competition it had was feature phones and Windows phones.

The game changed years ago, a grown up pager doesn't cut it.

RIM was so egotistical as to call the Storm gen I "the iPhone killer" Does the RIM R&D crew smoke crack on it's lunch breaks? Jesus man, you have to admit that's some screwed up hype there, even when they sorted out the software, the Storm is no competition to any version of the iPhone.

Did I brag about speed? Nope. Or did I say OS6 was faster and better than OS5? :whiste:

I'm not sure why you're trying so hard to troll me. Not only that, but I'm not hiding anything. You're the one comparing phones, I'm stating that the browsing is very good and it is, no question. I'm taking your 11 seconds as read, not calling it shit, but in reality you've proven nothing more than the fact you like playing playground games online.

If you can't handle the fact that you're wrong and feel you need to cry more like in your last three nerd-raging and pointless paragraphs then go right ahead. Better still, start a new thread, entitled, 'I hate RIM and want you to know about it'. I'm sure we'll all get a good chuckle out of it.

Sigh, you insist on judging BB's against each other and ignore the rest of the world.

Enjoy your BB, DBZ, it's got to be THE hot ticket in Sri Lanka this year...

You drive a BMW, and obviously are a fan of design, nice things and performance, but you're pimping grandpa's cell phone?

You're pretty funny. Why get personal?

37 seconds on HTC Surround.
25 seconds on iPhone 4.
22 seconds on my Sri Lankan Grandad's glorified pager.

PS: 62% of Apple's revenue is from outside the US. Your argument, what was it again? :whiste:

My argument really isn't with you anyway and time is on my side

I got 15 secs on my iPhone4. The javascript scrolling news to the right also works too.

Gosh, after looking at the video, I don't know how people survive web browsing on a smartphone unless its an iPhone4. At times I feel like an iPhone4 is still not fast enough. If there is a slightest lag in web browsing, I'm throwing the smartphone in the garbage.

First time loading the page? I wonder why yours was 10 seconds faster than my friend's.

I've browsed every major website in the world on my iEvoTorch fantasti-phone and had them finish opening in 1 second.

Yeah. I'm not sure everyone is letting the entire page load, unlike your test Stu.

It's huge, even on a desktop PC, and I let every single page element load in my test. I could have called it loaded at 10 seconds and even from the video you wouldn't have been able to say it wasn't, so I think there's more than a little flexibity in some of the truth around here.
