What's with all the haters in the global media. There's been a lot of negative press it seems overseas especially. True there have been a few snafus but things don't seem 1/2 bad to me. There are numerous sources quoted as saying these are the worst games ever or something close.

I stopped watching the Olympics cause of NBC's horrible coverage. Maybe that's contributing to a "worst games ever" mentality. Though that doesn't explain the global media.

US vs Canada mens hockey will be insane. I can still remember the street here going absolutely bat shit crazy when we won the gold against the US (was that the last game?). It was nuts, never seen that many flags or in my life

Ahh I see it was the 2002 Winter Olympics. That was fun to watch. Not normally a sports fan but I really get into the Olympics.

They seem great to me too, but I'm biased. I think the Global Mood is just pissy. Between the Recession and a lot of anger over missed Kyoto obligations and whatnot, it all adds up to people wanting to take some shots.

We do suck when it comes to things like Kyoto. We like to think we are a green nation (more so than others), when in fact the numbers show that we are one of the worst poluters per capita in the world. But still that shouldn't spill over into something like the Olympics.

Our Banking system also didn't implode and then we rubbed it into a few faces(overstating it), which might be another reason.

Oh, almost forgot: We are going to kick their Ass in Hockey and they know it! 😀

I heard that the Party downtown is unlike any other Olympics. We're having a great time, sorry that others are not. :shrug:

I suspect all the Athletes are liking it.
