2010 Lexus RX350 and RX450h

The dash is fuckin ugly! I think Id rather have the 09 model, at least it's been refined enough.

Is this a refresh or a complete redesign as it looks just like the previous model.

Still don't understand people who pay $45K for this tall Camry wagon.

Maybe it's roomy, comfortable and reliable?

So is Highlander and tonnes of other cars.

So why would people buy the acura TL when you can have a loaded accord for less?

Why would people buy a Porsche 911 GT3 when they can just buy a Nissan GTR?

It does nothing great - its an appliance with no cache or pedigree.

At $45K for a FWD based unibody SUV I'm thinking of so many other models that are leaps better than the RX.

MDX
Touraeg
Lincoln MKX
Murano
Highlander
Mazda CX9
Buick Enclave

Car & Driver answered my question - The RX is all new with an increased wheelbase.......

wow that exterior got uglier... it's reaching Infiniti FX territory ugly. My first thought when I clicked the link... it's a Buick! I'd much rather have an MDX over this guy.

We get the RX350 as a loaner sometimes when we take my wife's car in for service. It's actually a very nice ride. Very comfortable, plenty of power, smooth & quiet ride and it is confidence inspiring. We had her car in recently and I had the opportunity to drive the RX out to Palm Springs for Thanksgiving and really enjoyed it.

Mileage is poor but other than that it's a nice vehicle...despite the fact that it's an SUV. 😉

That's exactly why it's their best selling model.

Look, I came in here for an argument. This is simple contradiction.

FX is agressive and controversial ugly. This is boring ugly.

Peter: Don't worry, I got it all worked out. We'll move to England, huh? Worst they got there is, you know, drive-by... arguments...
[Meanwhile, in England.]
Englishman: I say, Jeremy, isn't that Reginald B. Stifworth, the young upstart chap who's been touting the merits of a united European commonwealth?
Jeremy: Why yes, I daresay it is.
Englishman: Oh, let's get him.
[They drive up.]
Englishman: Oh Reginald... I disagree.
[drives off]

Outside of the MDX, I wouldn't be interested in any of those.

The Touraeg, CX9 and Enclave fail in reliability.

The Murano, Highlander and MKX don't offer as comfortable and quiet of a ride.

The Controller at my company has an MDX and she likes it but she doesn't like Acura's service. They do not give out free loaner cars despite telling her that they did when she bought the car (she had a Lexus prior to this). We get a free loaner for a service as simple as an oil change.

Edit-I wouldn't buy any of the vehicles he listed either. 😉

The front end (in the first picture at least) reminds me just slightly of the Toyota Solara, one of the UGLIEST cars on the road. I put the Solara right up there with the Pontiac Aztek for ugliness.

I'm due for my annual oil change at BMW (included in 4-yr plan) and they would only give me a free loaner at the dealer I bought it at. A closer dealer wouldn't do it free. Anyway, if I'm lucky, it'll be a BMW... people say sometimes they are just regular Enterprise rentals.

On another note, watching Top Gear from 3 weeks back, didn't they say these companies are starting to lend out cars for like 2 days as "test drives"? They said BMW was doing 100mi. allowances. Gimme one of those for a loaner... I'll take a 335i or X6 twin turbo for a day.
