2010 Honda Fit mini review

The only problem I noticed with the Fit is that it's only $1200 cheaper than a more or less equivalent Subaru Impreza wagon, which is bigger, more powerful, safer, and full of Fuji Heavy Industries AWD goodness.

Of course, the Ford Fiesta costs even more than the Fit if you want the hatchback with any options whatsoever, which does raise some questions as to what, exactly, Ford management is thinking.

Your better off with the smaller engine with a timing chain in the Soul. With the Honda make sure you are using the recirculate mode to cool off car faster. Also change the cabin filter every year. That filter gets clogged and makes the AC perform worse on my 2002 Honda Civic. Don't pay the dealer to change the cabin filter, the instruction to do it are in the owners manual and most dealers charge $100+ to replace it.

How's your mileage on it? And A/T or M/T?

Mileage is about 15K right now. Gas mileage is 32mpg mixed with a M/T. My old 2000 Toyota Echo stick would get 38mpg mixed. WTF.

Those wagons are great - I have a lot of buddies with Subaru wagons. The WRX wagon is especially nice :D

The Fiesta wasn't a good fit for me, but I did really like that metallic lime green color!

Funny how that works, eh? So far my Soul is beating the Fit in MPG, actually - I'm getting 26 and my wife is getting just under 23!

Yeah, the A/C in the Fit is pretty anemic. The Soul's is pretty nice though - larger engine, yay.

The wagon I want is a 2011 MB E63 AMG Wagon :)

I bought a 2008 sport back in 2008 :) traded in a 07 ex for it. I just traded it in on a 2010 civic ex-l.

I liked it for the hauling capacity but not having an arm rest and carpet were absolute turnoffs. I know they revamped it 2009 with a better interior but I'm glad I don't drive one anymore. Plus the gas mileage isn't as good as the civic and the crapastic engine power going up a hill sucked. Id have to turn off the AC to be able to stay in the fast lane without people getting pissed behind me.

Edit: one more thing. I have never had more broken windshields then I did with the Fit. It broke 3 times in the last 6 months. It was constantly taking rocks. Just some thing with the angle of the windshield and the trajectory of the rocks.

Discovered something interesting about the Fit the other day - Sport mode is not for shiftronic shifting, it just pushes the engine harder...shiftronic actually works in BOTH Drive & Sport modes! All you do is tap one of the shift pedals to engage it, and if you don't shift soon enough, it just swaps back to automatic drive. I'd call Sport mode "in a hurry mode" haha - shifts sooner, pushes the engine harder, makes the auto a wee bit more fun to drive.

So you can do shiftronic in both Drive and Sport, and Sport simply makes the engine go quicker.

Ooh, purty! I like it!

Funnily enough, the Honda dealer got the exact car I wanted in 2 days after I picked up the Soul. Oh well. The manual Fit would have been a blast to drive, but I'm pretty happy with my Soul :)
