If a scuffle happens and two guys get in each other's faces, they both get techs, and that's in the heat of the moment (which is the only reason they don't get thrown out). Artest waited a minute (talking to the refs), THEN decided to confront. If he had gotten in Kobe's face when it happened he never would have gotten thrown out. It seems like the smart idea to avoid Kobe and talk to the refs, but if you lose your argument, get over it and beat him on the court.

I was flipping between the Jays game and missed the Fisher foul. Will have to look that up!

I can't decide anymore who I want to win this series.

fisher foul

I don't agree with ron getting thrown out but I understand it. Refs gotta control the situation. Part of me likes that Ron showed Kobe he's not gonna take any cheap shots, but other part of me hates that he didn't keep his cool b/c he was their most effective player last night.

LeBron can play multiple positions. So did Jordan, so did Pippen. Larry Bird was the inspiration for the term, "point forward" because he often ran the team. There seems to be an awful lot of team harmony on the Cavs.

Why would Kobe get suspended? Even though that elbow was a bit much, it was a "basketball play".

Fisher, on the other hand...

Fisher should be suspended, nobody else. Fisher's foul was ridiculous.

Because elbows above the shoulders have been getting automatic 1 games according to the articles floating around today...

That is technically correct:
EXCEPTION: Rule 12A--Section V--l(5)
l. A player, coach or trainer must be ejected for:
(1) A punching foul
(2) A fighting foul
(3) An elbow foul which makes contact above shoulder level
(4) An attempted punch which does not make contact

But he wasn't called for a foul. /shrug, I don't think he should be.

Yet in the Bulls/Celtics series, Paul Pierce got whacked in the nose so hard he required stitches, and there wasn't even a foul called. Shane Battier got hit in the head and there was copious bleeding, no foul call (IIRC). I think officials are trying to discern between "basketball plays" and "non-basketball plays", like Howard's elbow and Alston's headslap. That might save Fisher from a suspension. Or not.

I'm surprised Breen/Van Gundy/Jackson is #5.

I agree. Breen and van Gundy are amazing. Jackson usually just annoys me, but he's insightful at times.

Dan Shulman and Doris Burke ahead of them? No way, Shulman is alright, but burke sucks.

hubie brown is a good, but mike tirico lacks the enthusiasm i really look for in a play by play announcer.

By the time it's all said and done, LBJ will be a better player than Kobe. Kobe is a selfish goal scorer, and that's about it. He's yet to win anything without Shaq, and even if he does this year, it's because the rest of his team is stacked. As to how they acquired Pau Gasol is beyond me...guess Stern wanted to keep the Lakers good for a little longer.

LBJ, on the other hand, is a simply better all around player. He's already taken his mediocre team to the Finals, and they have a pretty good shot at winning it all this year. If you put Kobe on that Cleveland team, I don't think they'd have any chance at all

LBJ wouldn't touch the finals if he was in the west, period. LBJ is just as much of a selfish ball hog than Kobe, he has fucking Chosen 1 tattooed on his back for christ sakes.

Lakers record in the conference - 44-8

Cavs record against the West - 26-4

Cavs have the better winning % against the West. Please try again.

I agree with everything you've said here. I get the impression that Tirico prefers NFL, and he talks too much there.

Derek Fisher, although apparently a saint off the court, has been a dick on it for a long time. If you watch him, he loves to play dirty then, flash the innocent look. I hate that type of player.

the best part of his "performance" is when he acted like he didn't know what happened. Still don't know why he wasn't ejected after the elbow either. He could score 100 points, I don't care the dude is still a piece of shit. I get joy out of knowing Kobe knows as good as he is, Lebron is far better. All Kobe wants to be is #1, and that he won't reach.

Show the court on this doll where Kobe touched you

Kobe bent him over a chair and raped him. That's what Kobe does, and that's why Mrs. Bryant has all that jewelry.

LOL Now it makes sense.

That's crazy. I consider Breen the best right now. Hubie has excellent insight, Marv is always solid, Reggie is interesting and honest about assessments, and Kevin Harlan is also excellent imo.

Dick Stockton...maybe 20 years ago... And Terico, he's solid but can't call anything that requires an ounce of emotion without sounding like he's faking it. Fratello...for some reason he annoys me.

Carlisemo however deserves the bottom slot.
