it seemed like the last shot dirk took in the 3rd qtr should have been a foul on nuggets.

does anyone think in terms of playing intensity that a Nuggets/Cavs Finals would be more exciting than Lakers/Cavs?

(of course, Melo vs. Lebron doesn't have the same pull as Kobe vs. LeBron, but it looks like the Nuggets are playing a lot better than the Lakers from what I've seen of these playoffs)

Overrated!? Please explain that.

No kidding. The guy lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. From a small forward position no less. And his team had the best record in the league.

How that is "overrated" I have no idea.

i know you're a lakers fan.
what's your take on the kobe animated gif?

and he gave kobe props too (not from last night's game)

seems like such a nice guy.

That animated gif doesn't seem too shady to me. Looks like he could have easily had trouble getting up and slipped a little bit. I think it just looks worse than it actually is, but obviously the gif is cropped so you don't get the whole story of what's going on before and after.

srsly?
first knee, pretty bad already. fine, could've been inadvertent.
then he knees him again, then the forearm. i highly doubt he slipped.

the only thing we don't know is if battier did anythign to provoke this.

The knee and subsequent elbow just don't look that vicious to me. Maybe it's the slow-mo, but I don't see much wrong going on there.

He took 13 Fts last night. He gets to the line, usually from his flopping, but he gets to the line.

Yeah, it's a dirty play, but that sort shenanigans goes on a lot with many players.

Most superstars don't do that stuff, but some do. Reggie Miller did. Barkley did. So did Larry Bird. I guess the difference is that Bird has 3 titles as the unquestioned #1 player on his team, 3 MVPs, and also he would stand up and get into a fistfight.

Unless you're a Lakers fan, Kobe is hard to like. So arrogant and selfish, early in his career it seemed like he didn't even care about winning and losing - he just wanted to shine. The Pistons of the late 80's might have actually killed him.

What's so overrated about him? He's on his way to being the best small forward ever.

Celtics, Bulls set cable TV record ATLANTA (AP) -- Game 7 of the Bulls-Celtics series has supplanted Game 6 as the most-watched first-round NBA playoff game ever on cable. TNT says Boston's 109-99 win Saturday to end the exhilarating series was seen by 6.99 million people. That was the most viewers for a first-round game on broadcast or cable since the 2004 Lakers-Rockets Game 4 on ABC. The Bulls' 128-127 triple-overtime victory in Game 6 on Thursday was seen by 5.35 million people.

wow, after the full video you're still trying to find an angle to defend kobe.
get off his nut sack already. that was clearly an intention to hurt battier, be it out of frustration or whatever.

battier showed extreme restraint by not retaliating. class act all around.

Kobe will always be super hated outside of the Lakers. There's hate and then there's dislike. I bet in the 80's most Celtic or Piston fans disliked Magic Johnson because he was so damn good and always tore their team up. But he was a class act, and always did everything he could to make the rest of his team look as good as he did. I don't know anyone who hated him. Kobe is a douchbag on the court. and a cry baby when they lose, he can't seem to take the blame ever. The fact he's a great player is overshadowed by his piss poor attitude. It's a shame that he's a future HOF simply because he can play. I think there should be more criteria to get in the HOF than your skills. And it's sad to think he's basically the team leader, I guess because he's the best player on the team he's the leader by default.

 Wake up, man. If you've paid attention, I am not a Kobe fan. Your reading comprehension skills must be pretty bad. In an earlier post, I implied that Kobe was not classy. Then, in the post you've cited, I said Kobe is "hard to like", "arrogant" and "selfish". I also implied that Kobe is "cowardly" when it comes to physical confrontation.

In the 80's, Celtics fans feared Magic, but I don't think hatred was involved. He was too good a guy, too classy.

Umm, if Alston actually punched Rondo's head, he might have broken a finger. And, he would have been suspended for at least one game, maybe even 2, considering it was in no way a "basketball play".

I'm sure that foul will be upgraded to a flagrant, hopefully he won't be suspended. If Stern does this "letter of the law" crap like he did a few years ago with the Phoenix/San Antonio series, that would really blow.
