2009 Kentucky Derby - SAT May 2

No Lifer
2 minutes of racing for the best 3 year old thoroughbred horses in the world. Race is Saturday. Morning line odds should give you a feel for where professional handicappers put them. Lower odds "generally" means bigger chance of coming in the money but every horse here had to win enough to even be eligible.

So make your picks for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Get them correct and you have bragging rights. Bet them and you'll have a nice chunk of change. Or just pick the winner for fun and a "I told you so". 11 Chocolate Candy is worth a look, favorite 13 I Want Revenge is the morning line fav for a reason but the 13th position could be a problem.

-edit-
Track is currently sloppy after all night rains. Should get to a FAST condition by the time the race goes off at 6:24 on NBC. Coverage starts at 5:00.

"When the word came out that running could hurt the horse, I looked at both doctors and said 'Then there is no debate," Lanzman said. "We'll fight another day."

Reminds me of another race day scratch years ago. It caused quite a stir, when it was announced over the tracks P.A. system. The horse's name you ask? "Harass".

I'm all over the freaking place. West Side Bearnie should be great at that price, Papa Clem great horse, Hold Me Back is a closer.

Need to watch the payouts, they should be HUGE! Mine That Bird was purchased for 9,500 dollars. This is a huge upset.

Mine That Bird FTW

You win the thread. Long shot upset.

What do I win? Those were some crazy odds I just hit there.

If you had him in an exacta the pay out will easily be over 2,000 dollars. Trifecta is probably well over 10K. If you had him to win on a 2 dollar bet it'd pay around 100 bucks. I just want to see what the payouts are.

HOLY MONEY! 2,000 dollar exacta, 40K trifect, 500,000 dollar superfecta.
