The new soon to be released M3 will p!ss all over it.

And the new Infiniti/Nissan GTR will piss all over the M3.

Alas, those people will still be driving a Nissan. :)
The GTR would most likely beat an M3, however a BMW lover could just go get an M5 with 500 hp and rape that Nissan.

GTR is going to have similar times to 911 Turbo and C6 Z06. No way stock M3 or M5 is going to keep up with it. Sedan = weight.

S5 anyone?

Possibly, but too much $$$

More like A5.

Fair enough, I'll take the A5 with the 3.0 Diesel (240 bhp/369 ft-lbs at 32 mpg) and 5.9 seconds 0-60. Yum yum :D

(ok I'm done thread crapping now)

Nice engine, disappointing style. As a current G35 owner it looks like they've improved everything but the exterior. Whoever compared it to the (ugh) Altima is right. Really went cheesy and conservative on the styling this time.

It is normally on par or a bit more expensive than premium gas, which I assume the Infiniti uses with its high compression ratio.

The GT-R will not be using the Infiniti name (according to Ghosn). It has been and will always be a Nissan car (except if you exclude that the Skyline itself was originally developed by Prince Motors before it merged with Nissan-Datsun... Nissan still developed the Skyline that we all know today, the GT-R). It's also supposed to have near 480 HP from what I've read, not 450. Supposedly, it will be using a VQ in TT fashion (which is what the spy pictures help support) as to what model exactly... no one is entirely sure.

I just wish Nissan wouldn't shoot for the high-end market with it. The original GT-Rs cost around 40k, not around 70k like most are speculating the new GT-R to cost.

What's with all the Altima hate... I like my 2007 Altima 3.5SL :(. Much better than the similarly-equipped Maxima.

Since the new M3 uses the old BMW M5 V8 block, which produces 400HP with 500Nm of torque. You can extrapolate the extra 20Hp to equate a total of 525NM's of torque.

You do the math.

You cannot extrapolate figures like that. They could have gained more HP by either increasing the torque at the same RPM, or by making it rev higher.

quite right

power (kW) = torque (Nm) x Revs (radians per second)

so they could of made it produce more power by increasing the peak torque, or making the same 500Nm of peak torque happen at a higher rev

they might of just flattened out the torque curve at the top...allowing you to use that 500Nm over more of the rev range. same torque...more power.

Has anyone notice the article mention of this 4 wheel steering system on G37. It looks quite impressive on paper...

The styling is disappointing compare to the concept. And who cares what the HP and torque numbers come out to be, each car has its own driving characteristics...whatever float your boat (and whatever your wallet can afford)

Still ugly and shaped like a Ford Taurus. Everything looks like a jelly bean anymore. Let's have something unique again.

Honestly, what do the designers really do anymore anyway? Seems like 95% of the styling is dictated by the wind tunnel so every car looks the same.

i don't have anything against the altima, it's just that the g37 looks like a clone of it, and therefore, lacks in the originality dept.

Can we get rid of the nested quotes? It makes threads too annoying to read...
