Yeah but the Viper is so much more fun.

It doesn't try to be anything but ass to the asphalt old school muscle.

When it comes to looks, the Viper is the Sarah Silverman of cars in my book.

If i had to choose one of them for an only car to drive it would have been the Z06 for other obvious reasons.

NOT this AGAIN!:D:p

All of you gasping at 8.4L's of engine need to understand the previous engine displacement was 8.3L's.

Dodge got 100HP from tweaking their engine not from increasing it's size. Supposedly an all new Viper arrives in 2010 that will be making 700HP.

Gimme this new one with the good ole GTS chassis back please(wouldn't the mind the handling upgrades though, I want the looks :) ).

I agree with that statement, the original GTS was extremely sexy, almost as sexy as... :D

In every way but one, the viper will make you feel like you're in an uncontrollable beast and that you probably should be scared.

But it's really a lot easier to handle if you know how to drive rear tire powered cars, you can drive it sideways without really losing control, when the Z06 lets go it is without warning and it lets go like there is a rocket propelling the rear when it lets you you can't steer your way out of it by giving or restricting throttle, it's just gone and you will spin.

Of course, the 'vette isn't really meant to be driven like that but it's most definently powerful enough to surprise even more experienced drivers.

The Viper is more like an old school muscle car, you know when it's going to let go and you counter steer and give gas or let the engine break break the slide and just straighten up the wheel and give gas, it's like an overpowered gocart or like one of my all time favourite cars, the Porsche GT2, with it's huge wing it looked like crap but man could you burn rubber on a track with that car.

Going straight ahead, maybe.

Actual driving, not if they don't do something drastic like a complete resesign of the chassi.

Either way, the 'vette would be my choice as a daily driver over a Viper, but as a second car just for fun, the 'vette isn't even in my top 20 but the Viper is in my top two.

So you are turned on by poor resale value and a wannabe ferrari exterior?

I like the second RT10 version the best. I loved the aggressive hood vents as well as the sexy curves...if only the interior was more expensive looking.

Umm no. The Vette even now still beats the Viper. it also beats the GT and F430.

Yet is less attractive and has less resale value.

The current Viper GTS looks like sh!t compared to the first generation. The first gen was beautiful, the current one was designed by Osamu Shikado, the same dude that penned late 80's and early 90's Camrys and Corollas for Toyota.

LOL, I see new Vipers every day in my line of work, along with other Mopars. Well, actually any make really.

It's still a freeking Dodge.

Mopar has this habit of throwing insane amounts of horsepower at their cars to make up for all their other deficiencies (like a 425hp Jeep).

Myself, I wouldn't pay $90K for a car that sounds like it's rattling itself to pieces after 20K miles.

No thanks.

Funny, I had no idea about that, but I always said the current Viper looks more like a Japanese car with bigass tires than an American muscle car :)

Yes and we are trying to show how the new vette SS will stack up against future vipers, and someone said the viper owns the z06 now, which is not true.

When the SS Vette is out then please talk. Corvettes are everywhere, hell I had one in High School, Vipers get more attention ! Also, I love the Viper because it has lots of power, and its a convertible, something CHEVY can't do with the Z06!

For the money i'd rather buy a supra and give it 800+ HP... but if i had to take one, i'd go with the viper. a more unique car IMO.
