Wow, why would Ford not bring that to the US? It actually looks pretty nice!

I personally like our Ford Fusion much better. It is at least a cohesive design. The Mondeo looks like a MKII Euro Focus mated with an Acura TL.

What are you crazy?! The Mondeo is way better looking than any of Ford's current U.S. cars.

Mustang and Fusion look better. Not that the new Mondeo is ugly by any means.
And why do family sedans now come with fender flares? It kind of ruins it.

Hmm... this BMW owner/aficionado takes issue with the idea of "A distinctive kick-up of the window graphic at the C-pillar" as a supposedly unique stylistic cue...

Looks/sounds an awful lot like the well-established Hofmeister Kick... ;)

Both GM and Ford have made many vehicles in Europe and Australia that were much better styled than their North American vehicles. You'd think they'd at least try to bring them in as Limited Editions or something, just to test the waters, but they don't/didn't.

ford did it in the late 80s/early 90s with the merkur brand, and totally fscked it up. they then tried it with the contour, which was a mondeo, but they fscked that up too (it was too damn small because they didn't want to kill taurus sales). so now ford has little interest in doing so (even though the first gen focus was a smash hit)

in my humble opinion, ford should sell it's european lineup in the mercury brand. bring over the fiesta, the focus, the mondeo, the s-max, the galaxy, etc. maybe leave the ka there.

Casino Royale? It's going to be in a Bond movie? :frown: Since when does Bond drive ordinary Ford POS's?! :| If it's going to be, like, a prop on a side street, who cares? Casino Royale is going to SUCK. :(

I think Ford tried before in the 80's with the Merkur XR4Ti

lol late!

this has been in mags like auto express and TG for months.

i dont understand quite why ford is in a bad position, i may be 100% wrong, but theyre having financial trouble arent they? they make europes best selling family car the Focus, americas best selling or fastest selling Pick up (F150) and the Mustang.

all the cars ive driven, and ive driven the current fiesta's, focus and mondeo and theyre all good. they handle exceptionally, the build quality is very good, (not up to Audi standards, but by no means poor) the interiors are thoughtfuly designed and ergonomically brilliant....really does feel like the guy who designs the interiors is a down to earth no-nonsense guy called dave with a wife and 2 kids becuase the whole design is pure common sense and works beautifully

i love the focus, i love the fiesta, (current mondeo is a bit boring) and hell if i had to buy a people carrier id be buying the Ford S-MAX with its 2.5 litre turbo engine, and again ive been in one of those, it drives like a champ, its well built and the interior is so beautifully functional i dont think you could actually improve on it.

seriously what are ford doing wrong? from where im sat they make some of the best cars you can buy for the money

new mondeo looks very good though, a big improvement on the current one (which isnt a bad car by any means, just abit bland) and it was originally going to be introduced just as an estate/wagon type car because they felt many people simply werent interested in the saloon anymore...glad to see they changed their minds!

probably

the labour government has probably privatised MI6, and when that happens the job goes to the person/persons who can do it for the cheapest. (hence why our public transport, among other things, is pure bollocks)

Actually GM brought the Holden Monaro from Oz over as the Pontiac GTO, but it didn't sell well despite being an awesome car. Hopefully GM will try again and bring over more Holdens like these as pontiacs soon.

Don't laugh but James Bond hasn't always driven the signature Aston Martin.
One of the movies back in the 70s he drove an AMC Hornet.
