the Aura Green Line sedan will be out later this year

The GM system, while not as sophisticated as Toyota's, is far superior for the average consumer. It adds very little cost to the car or SUV, but provides a 10-20% increase depending on driving conditions.

Here is what Nissan needs to do:

1) Bring over any small car not already sold in the US. The Note will do
2) Slap a hybrid on an anemic 4-cylinder engine
3) Put attention-grabbing feel-good details inside and out, i.e. giant Hybrid badge on the back and an extra digital dial that measures something worthless like "gas saved over not owning a 5000-lb SUV"
4) MARKETING BLITZ!
5) Profit (note that this profit is not entirely dependent on many Hybrid Notes being sold

I sure have, but they're not the same car.

They're built on the same platform but the Note is shorter in length and taller.

Looking at the website I see that Nissan sells the Patrol in the UK.. but why won't they sell an offroad capable solid axle vehicle in the USA? I guess there are significant advantages to living in places where people buy off road vehicles to use off road! I'm sure dug777 will confirm that.

Altima Hybrid uses components licensed from Toyota but the engine and transmission is Nissan's .... only people who have driven both hybrids back to back will appreciate how different these cars drive.

Real world driving .... I got 31.5 average mpg on an Altima Hybrid over 600+ miles. 65% highway / 35% city. Car only had 2000+ miles on it, so I expect the fuel economy to only improve after proper engine break in.
