QFMFT! But alas, it's alot easier to say LT than to say out his full name. It's like a freaking paragraph. I already call him LT myself. :(

Wheres McNair?

He takes a 4-12 team and turns them into a 10-3 team.

He is a distant third. His problem is the numbers. The team has greatly improved, but so have the Saints and his numbers are nowhere close to Brees'. Half the TDs and half the yards.

yep. if wins were all that mattered, rex grossman would get the MVP

Uh, no. He played there last year and wasnt too successful. The McNair situation is entirely different.

Who? Grossman?? He was out most of last year, paving the way for the brilliant Kyle Orton era of Bears football.

I think some Giants fan choose to call him LDT.

Back on topic, LT should win no doubt. When you break a single season TD record (with 3 more games to go), you almost lock yourself up as the MVP. Brees is putting up a lot of numbers, but unless he breaks some records, he's not going to beat out LT.

I like McNair a lot, but I think what he's done is simply show how completely, utterly terrible Kyle Boller was - McNair isn't turning the ball over, period, he's not really done much other than that. Not being awful doesn't deserve an MVP award.

Brees, on the other hand, is having a monster season for a team that was picked to finish dead last - Sean Payton should also be the coach of the year, their playcalling and use of Bush/McCallister has been tremendous.

LT is great, but his yardage numbers are actually down from last year - TD's are amazingly high, but then again they are the highest scoring team in the league. He gets my 2nd place MVP vote.

I think LT will get it.

IIRC, last year Shaun Alexander won it for breaking the TD record (Like LT this year).

That's ridiculous. LT is the greatest RB of our time, no doubt. But the fact is, the Chargers have a great defense that keeps them winning games. What would they be without LT? Not as good, for sure, but still good.

Without Brees, NO would be lucky to win a game.

Brees. He's taken a team that is full of noobs and underachievers and turned them into a serious playoff contender.

Tomlinson's numbers are not down from last year. At this point he's only 35 yards shy of match his rush yards from last year, on 54 less carries. Receiving yards, already has 1 more catch and 109 yards more than last season.

I can't argue that.

I think Brees deserves MVP, with McNair second.

I think LT deserves offensive player of the year.

There isn't a doubt in my mind that LT is the best offensive player on the field, but he isn't the most important to his team. I think Peyton Manning is probably *the* most important player of any team in the league. I simply couldn't imagine how the Colts would operate without him. But I think that Brees earned/deserves it more.

Brees brought something to NO that scraped that team up from a bottom sucker to the cream of the NFC. They also brought in a new coach and Reggie Bush, but Brees is chucking up 300+ yards a game w/ a 100+ passer rating, and doing this without a dominating defense to help them with field position or without a big name receiver. (No knocks against the often hurt Horn).

The MVP isn't about the most dominating player. It's about the one that helps out the team the most. Look at Steve Nash. As an individual he isn't dominating, but he took a ho-hum Suns team and turned them into divisional contendors.

That's what Brees did for NO.

I don't know, I think you're leaving out the intangables. LT rushing releaves a HUGE amount of pressure for the rest of the offense and even the defense.

You're implying that without LT, the Chargers would still be 11-2, clinched the West, and still be on a 7 game win streak? Maybe not that specific, but I doubt they would be anywhere close to those impressive stats.

QFIdiocy.

Not only does LaDainian Tomlinson have more syllables in his name, but he is arguably the greatest running back of all time.

So don't tell m we can't call him LT, you dipsh!ts.

Excelsoir: you really think LaDainian is one of the all-time greats?

Not that there's anything wrong with that, I've just never heard anyone say that before.

I've said it before and I believe it. At the end of his career, he will be considered one of the best backs to ever touch a pigskin.

You must not watch the games then, because I am certainly not the only one who believes that.

He has accomplished so much already yet he has at least another 4-6 good years left.

No part of my post was argumentative. That's cool man, that's cool.

Baltimore is 10-3 (with a win agains SD) without an overly explosive offense. McNair is a very good manager of an offense, but he isn't a dominating QB. Lewis is a decent back, but he isn't LT.

Chicago is 10-2 with a QB that is ready to be benched and a decent RB.

SD is 11-2.

Tell me what is similar between these three teams?
