I like it, but a fat, torquey *3.8L* V6 needs to be driving all 4 wheels, ala-GSX

A car that small with that much FWHP is silly :(

Yea, it would be more appealing if it were AWD or RWD, but I know the AWD is Evo territory now. So whats wrong with RWD? damn u mitsubishi! :(

making it RWD will make its tiny backseats virtually unusable at all. plus all you fast and the furious fanboys need to realize that the old turbo-charged GSX costed something around $27k. you can buy an Evo8 RS at that price.

The engine is definitely a step in the right direction. 260+HP and matching torque should be pretty quick compared to a similarly-priced Celica or RSX/Civic Si.

How would it being RWD make the backseats unuseable? It might cramp the trunk a little, and you'd have to have a bump in the middle of the floorpan depending on the driveshaft layout, but in a sport compact thats the last freaking thing you care about.

You do realize that a GSX was basically the same drivetrain as a Evo right? It just had different suspension geometry and body panels. For the longest time, it was the closest thing we could get to a Evo in the States.

Cliffs notes : You are retarded.

I don't like the looks but the specs are certainly intriguing.

Wait...how come it doesn't say anywhere whether an AWD will be available this time around?

That was the old turbocharged motor, this is a *Galant* engine. I'm sure an AWD system will pump up the price, but there's no reason they couldn't achieve a WRX-like price with Evo performance

IMO Mitsu ruined the Eclipse in 2000 and they haven't looked back. This is just one more step down the path to ruin, furthering the transition from Evo to Galant.

And yeah, I know what a GSX cost. I owned one, '92. Fun as hell to drive but a heartbreaker. Definitely the least reliable Japanese car I've ever owned (built in America  ).
