2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse ad **Updated 1/10** Official shot

If you go to Dieselstation website and click on the wallpaper archieve, you'll see they've an Eclipse E concept car.

It's very similar with the scretch picture on the first post.

Reason enough not to consider it a sporty car.
 
It'll no doubt be a heavy mofo. AFAIK, it's gonna be based on the current Galant platform (Galant, Endevour sp?). The top end model will also have the 3.8 liter V6 pumping out at least 260HP.
 
Mitsubishi keeps pushing their release date back. The redesign was supposed to come in 2005. When I read articles on the "concept" 2005 Eclipse, it was supposed to be a hybrid. More importantly, a hybrid with a 3.8L powering the front wheels and electric on the rear.

I'm an Eclipse fan and I like the current design fine. Just more power! I installed a RIPP Mods supercharger kit in mine not long ago. Adding those from the factory would improve sells. 🙂

Wow, that's nearly Hyundai level inefficiency for power\liter. The back end looks like they juked part of the G35...
