it amazes me on top gear how they're always talking about the evo "... and you get a warranty!" yeah right, mitsu isn't going to be around to honor that warranty for when your tiny overblown engine explodes

You mean like how they used to in the DSM glory days from 89-99? I could only wish...

Since the 2000 model year, Mitsu has taken what used to be one of the best performing cars on the road and turned it into a poseur POS.
 
Looks too much like a Mercury Cougar.

I thought the concept looked much better. This is not radical enough to sell big.
 
Goddamn, I can't believe they actually made an eclipse thats even uglier! I personally like the new Galant and EVO, wtf happened here?

It doesn't take personal experience to know that the big-V6-front-heavy FWD Eclipse is gonna plow through every turn. While the light-and-balanced Type R 'Teg is one of the best handling FWD cars ever built.

Face it. Mitsu turned the 4-time SCCA champion Eclipse into a secretary's car and girl's-night-out boulevard cruiser.

I don?t know. I was enthused about the car and the concept. The actual thing looks watered down and nowhere near as exciting as the sketches. Looks like a Pontiac.
 
Front reminds me of a tiburon.
Back I like thought, but the car is rather ugly to me

A little off topic but I can't wait to head down to the auto show to check this out on sunday.
Any other detroiters heading out?
