If its a new challenge you get 1000 chips, an archived challenge is 500 + 250 for new articles, 125 for archived articles + 100 for downloads
 
Anyone working in retail NOT want this deal? I could use it and I'll openly solicit fraud on these forums, which makes me a PERFECT person to deal with.
 
WTF? Radio Shack is not listed, but in the drop down there are some random RS stores from various states. Unfortunately it looks like I am not eligible. 🙁

I agree 100%. Those jobs don't pay enough for what you have to go through.

I did this the year before and made a nice system. Last year's bundle was totally not worth it, but it looks good this time around.

Its the AMD Solution Provider promos. I got a 3200+ w/A8N mobo and XP pro 64 for ~$250 last year. This years deal wasnt as good. Search the archives, as this is a big deal in Hot Deals every year.
 
Intel employee pricing for the Core 2 Extreme is less than $500 =P

Clearly it's a great time to work for Intel now!
 
AMD is supposedly making a retail bundle package today. I was told by the new AMD representative today. AMD is just as bad as intel when it comes to marketing store to store except they just have never given the sales people a really good deal. No harm in that since smart/most sales people sell to that customers needs.

Have to do some reading on the processor in the intel deal though.

Wanna bet they havent? Their first bundle was a bit over 2 years ago.... AMD 3200+ with a Asus K8V SE Deluxe... was $220 or so I think with a $100 rebate. At the time the items they gave would have cost about $400-$500
 
Not that anybody pays attention to it anyway, but when you buy the bundle you are agreeing not to resell it. It's supposed to be for personal use, not to profit off of it.
 
Question for buyers last year: Did any of you get the 7k needed last year to "qualify" and were you able to easily get the package even if you didn't have it guarenteed?


I got the qulifying points last year but I did not purchase it. This year I am planning to but they raised the minimum to 8k and the *guarenteed* requirement to 12k which means I might fall a bit shy of 12k so I'm worried I will have to get up at 5am to order my package or worse yet they will be out by the time they reach the 8k buyers.
 
most individuals who ordered prior to December 8 with the minimum points in VA didn't have issues. Achieving the required number of points by completeing the challenges and articles are easy to complete. Just take some time and read thru material. Most individuals are looking for Vista Ultimate and OC the E 2300 for HT system in our store.

thank you very much geebos. I calculated how many points I'll probably have before the purchase date and it comes very close I was very nervous.....although this year might be a bit tougher with the vista package
 
For all who dont qualify, dont be too jealous. You do in fact have to work retail. 1000 chips and 1000 mb's dosent make that seem like and attractive offer to me. 😛

But for those who do, enjoy one of the better perks you will prob ever get. I built like 10 systems from deals like this, always enjoyed the day they showed up in the mail 🙂

Um, I remember getting bundle deals from AMD back in the k7 days. In fact it was a couple years before Intel followed suit.
 
FYI, in addition to working at a retail store, you need to have one of these positions.

Also came with Far Cry on DVD =) I'm STILL using that cpu/mobo to this day, great value!
