Got my replacement today and the exact same damn thing is wrong with it. Still lines. All AO2 owners can you please check www.xfire.com and look at the blue sides on the right and left. Do you see any lines?

I have the same problem on mine. I tried the "Reduced DVI Frequency" option on my X800XL and same thing happened. I tried it with a laptop that has a VGA port and the same thing happened. So, I don't think it is a video card problem unless I need to set something else on my ATI X800XL driver?

I have a replacement and this one is worst. Left side, middle and some in between. I tried all settings and it is still doing the same. Any suggestions?

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that I have this problem also. Many other people seem to be having this problem as well with this monitor. It seems to be very common in the A02 revision, because I have been through four of these monitors, two A01's and two A02's, and both the A02's had the problem. I posted about it here: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=246836&st=1980

Not sure what causes it, I used to think it was EMI interference in the monitor but when I switch to the VGA port the problem goes away, so that's not whats causing it. Most likely it's some cheap component inside the monitor that's not performing up to par, due to the fact that Dell wants to save money and probably swapped out the more expensive part to save 5 cents on each monitor.=/ Thanks a lot Dell.

If you use the VGA port at the monitors native resolution it should solve the problem, or if you can increase the pixel clock of the DVI interface to 146mhz it will fix it. I am not sure how to do this on an ATI card though. The "reduce frequency on high resolution displays" option did not work for me either. I am probably going to try that again later. This time I will reboot the computer after changing the option because sometimes ATI control panel options don't take effect unless you reboot.

Thx creaturespeaker. I thought it was just me and JustinSane45 that are having such a bad bad luck. I will try to reboot after setting the "Reduced DVI Freq...". I called Dell today and they said they are unaware of this problem as common. So, they are going to send me the 3rd one. Crossing my fingers again. If it happens again!!!, I will return this thing and get a refund even though I love this monitor.

i've noticed this for a couple of weeks. it just never really bothered me that much. you can only see the 'ripples' on a solid background. does dell ship the new monitor to you first and then you return the old monitor, or vice versa?

i tried calling dell technical support, however, they're are closed. so i tried using the chat service but that required a service tag, which the 2005fpw does not appear to have.

Just type in 111111 and you can get through. Sometimes, you have to try a few times before getting through. Good luck to you and me.

Good luck to me too lol. Man I hope the third one kicks ass. I think I will get my money back too if the third has it because tonight the lines were really annoying in BF2. I kept seeing something moving on the left side of the screen. Damn it Dell send me a good one please.

If you wait to long to return it (past 21 days) they might try and send you a refurb. The monitors have a 3 year warranty but past 21 days you might have to argue with them if you don't want a refurb.

Monitor #3 and guess what, lines again. Comon dell. Fix this. Warning to all new buyers of 2005fpw. All of these monitors are made in July AO2. You are warned. Every new monitor will have this prob.
