FWD > RWD in Canada. Thank goodness for the Japanese and AWD cars, RWD doesn't agree with Montreal winters even with all the traction control technology they add. It's too bad because RWD cars are much more fun on dry pavement 🙁

The number of enthusiast who apppreciate RWD will ALWAYS be far outnumbered by those who value FWDs predictability, ease of use, space (FWD yields more rear passenger space than any RWD setup could ever hope to dream of), and value (FWD is cheaper to produce than RWD).

I'd get my old Dodge Spirit to understeer around corners or on on-ramps. The Miata is wonderful for manuevering quickly. Oversteer is great for quick u-turns or sharp corners. I drive hard. 🙂

I live in upstate NY. You don't have to tell me about snow. We got almost 200" last winter. I am going to hide my Miata in the agarge and share my gf's car over the winter. That said, I have heard from several people that it's really not a bad car in the snow/ice with snow tires all around.

Don't forget everyone's favorite cop car - comparing it to the Accord, Camry, and Altima - the rear passenger space owns all of those 3, except for head room where it was within about an inch. I don't see how FWD pwns RWD in any setup for rear passenger space.

In a RWD car, you're going to have a large hump in the center of the rear floorboard for which all of the drivetrain components must pass through to get to the rear of the car, killing passenger space.

And the point of posting this list was?.......... Many of the latter cars you mentioned also come in the superior AWD form. In the price conscious market that Honda caters to, having a FWD platform is easier to produce at a cheaper priced than a RWD setup.

Say if you were to build a civic with everything identical cosmetically, sans that drive train. One is RWD while the other is FWD. The RWD one will cost more to produce, and passenger room will be compromised in the rear. Which platform do you think the vehicle will be produced on?

The Accord with a stick isn't any more "fun" to drive than the auto version. Believe me. If you want sporty, go with the 6 or maybe the Altima, or if your wallet allows, the Legacy or the G35.

hey i don't know if you know, but the 6MT accord has quite a few upgrades over all the others. Bigger brakes/rotors, bigger/wider rim/rubber, revised intake/intake manifold and different exhaust.

I haven't actually driven the 6MT so I can't really say if it's "more fun", but it's a bit different of an animal.

So I test drove the 2005 yesterday, and I think I'll be getting one in the near future... it looks MUCH better with the 17" wheels and lower profile tires.

The headlights are NOT HID projectors... they just look like they might be. Standard halogens unfortunately.

Why does Acura have the HID option for the rest of their fleet but not the RSX? The car is designed to be riced out...it's better to have HID standard and not have to put in a kit.
